Sorry I read it wrong. My experiences with JP-5 have found it to be closer to diesel fuel in it's ignition or flame point. If I'm not mistaken the Navy can on smaller engines like a Detroit 671 with a few adjustments interchange the fuels.

Exactly. A much smoother, and longer, burn. This is what contributed to the collapse of the towers. The fuel burned so slowly (almost an hour) that it weakened the steel in the building.
