Horrifying image of Dianne Feinstein in WTC smoke
Self, AP | 09/19/01 | Self

Posted on 09/19/2001 6:17:47 PM PDT by Dan Day

After all the threads talking about finding the devil in the smoke of the WTC disaster, I started looking closer at some of the photos I had saved and made the following horrifying discovery:

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D, CA):

A completely unretouched photo (except for the circle I added) from the Associated Press:

In the words of Dave Barry, "I am not making this up".

I couldn't agree with you more. This is one of those threads that make me think twice before recommending FR to a friend. Sad.

If this is "suppoessed" to be funny I don't see it

It's funny because there really is a smoke formation in one of the AP photographs that looks an awful lot like Dianne Feinstein. It's doubly funny because people had already been posting threads getting all freaked out about having found a "devil face" in the smoke, so this thread acts as a nose-tweaking parody of it -- it shows that you can find anything in smoke formations (or clouds, or rock formations like the "face on Mars") if you hunt around long enough.

In fact , I hate her politics but I would never stoop to this low level.......Somedays this forum just makes me shake my head.

"Stoop" to what? What on earth are you talking about? And what does this have to do with politics? I would have started the same kind of thread if I had instead discovered a "face of Britney Spears" in the smoke in one of the WTC photographs.

Politics have nothing to do with it. At least they didn't to me when I started the thread -- the fact that *you're* all too quick to read a political slant into a "we could all use a laugh" thread like this one indicates that maybe you're a bit too wound up in politics yourself.

We claim to expouse the american ideal.....unfortunately some low lifes i guess get in under the door.

Please explain to me how a thread posted entirely for its amusement value (well, and also to get the "devil face" people to unwind a bit) makes me a "low life" who came in "under the door" and allegedly invalidates my ability to "expouse [sic - try "espouse"] the american ideal".

Be specific, and show your work.

very sad

Oh, lighten up.

Please explain why, in detail.

This ought to be... illuminating.

Oh, and in case any of the "how dare you" sourpusses here still aren't clear on the parody aspect of this thread, go check out: BEDEVILING Did Satan rear his ugly face?.

I would have thought that even someone who's too grouchy to get a smile out of the bizarre chance of finding a surprisingly accurate "face" of Dianne Feinstein (or any other well-known person) in the smoke would have at least appreciated the satire involved in parodying the multiple "devil in the smoke" threads that have been taken way too seriously here.

Apparently I expected too much.

I just have one problem with your tirade. You stated that the wrong people have the guns. Well it has been brought out that the hijackers did NOT have guns, they used box blades and knives. Furthermore, the four brave souls that overpowered the hijackers headed to what they now believe was the White House also did not have guns. I believe as you do that we have the consitutional right to own and carry guns according to the law, but we must not use this as an excuse to start blaming government or others for the tragedy of 9/11. The blame lies only with the ones who perpetrated the acts. Osama bin Laden and his followers. We MUST use this horror as a means to unite together as a nation, regardless of differences in opinions and let them and all terrorists that this will not continue. If we cannot do this, then the terrorist factions have already won.

You win today's prize. There is another site which claims that one clearly shows Barbara Milkulski's and Barney Frank's butts. Intern tips perhaps?

Any Nostradamus verses to go with the apocalyptically horrifying Feinstein imagery? I'm frightened. Anyone have a subterranean mountain shelter home?

Yeah, let's form circles all over America and, at the appointed hour, all sing Kumbuya as we sway gently, eyes closed.

So glad you believe we have the Constitutional right to carry weapons -- within the laws. And which "laws" would those be? The ones a majority of the new, improved citizens bought into which effectively stifle or outright contravene the Constitution? Those "laws?" We can BELIEVE that we have a right to carry weapons for personal defense. Just don't get caught-- you know -- actually DOING IT!

A widely accepted belief that the STATE is always right and will take care of us is what got 12,000,000 Jews and non-Jews a largely resistance free trip to the showers -- and, sadly, got the passengers on those flights on Terrible Tuesday very suddenly dead. Some of them DID resist. They were TRUE heroes!!

They understood that, ultimately, each of us is -- or should be -- RESPONSIBLE for our own safety.

Our founding documents GUARANTEE us "...LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness..." and charges government to defend the nation at the COLLECTIVE or corporate level. The US military is engaged in that perfectly legitimate function as you read this.

Notice the order there? Without LIFE , the rest is meaningless. The 7,000 dead men, women and babies (my God – the babies!) are finished with the other two.

If GOVERNMENT somehow prevents us from performing the task of self-preservation, it's time to instruct government to GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY.

Perhaps if US law-enforcement types had been out keeping a closer eye on clearly identified possible terrorist madmen – instead of jailing close to 800,000 peaceful weed smokers last year – Terrible Tuesday could have been prevented. I don’t smoke but it’s just a thought.

Either it's OUR government or it's someone else's government.

If it IS someone else's government (and my bet is that it now belongs to the aparachiks or bureaucrats), we'd better get about the business of finding out to whom it DOES belong – and getting it back.

Insanity is defined as “Doing the same thing over and over while expecting a DIFFERENT RESULT.”

And, to paraphrase the ancient Greeks, “Whom God would destroy, he first makes insane.”

Isn’t it time to STOP THE BUREAUCRATIC INSANITY?

I realize that expressions such as this put me at some risk under Voltaire’s warning that “IT’S DANGEROUS TO BE RIGHT WHEN THE STATE IS WRONG.” My SEETHING ANGER at the INSANITY that allowed the slaughter of 7,000 of us like helpless cattle has overwhelmed my better judgment.

And I continue to wonder how many of the anti-gun passengers of the 266 aboard those doomed aircraft PRAYED that someone OTHER than their killers had a BIGGER, BADDER WEAPON.

Tragically, no one did!

He's a wanna-be Malcolm X here in Houston,

And looks kinda smokey.

No, you were disqualified on account of that really lousy circle you drew. Get off the caffeine, man. :-)
