When I first came on Free Republic, I found that it was a group of fairly erudite and intelligent, if occasionally rude, folks who had a fairly substantial grounding in modern political thought and conservative economic philosophy. At that point in time, I gladly gave my monthly contributions on a regular to help keep things going.
Sadly, that golden conditon seems to have radically changed over the last two years. I now find that Free Republic is, for the most part,infested and beset by benighted yahoos who's only interest is posting irrelevant personal rants, obscentity-laced diatribes and dictums to "freep this poll."
Sorry, Jim. No more contributions until the adults return to take control of Free Republic again. I'll check back again in another two months to see how you're doing.
I agree there have been some very rude posters out there. I have also seen the posts get pulled and they are removed from this forum. 2 years ago, there were not nearly the amount of people here as now. And with the increased amount of people, sadly, comes the trash. We need the adults around to help get rid of the riff-raff. Thanks for your bump!
