Now, the government is going to give a multi-billion dollar award to the airlines who facilitated the affair with the help of the FAA. Legislation is being proposed to exempt the airlines of responsoibility for the hijackings.

Is there something wrong in this picture?

The Philippine government is referring to "Project Bojinka," but this is the first reference I've seen to the building strike plan. Strange that it took so long to come out.

In return, Clinton approved the opening of a smugglers' paradise (design) in the new airport terminal on Guam.

I Feel so sorry for the family's of this tragic situation. I am sure that some of those families might be feeling anger towards the Airlines, for their lax security, no going through carry on bags, and also for not making sure the pilot's cabin was so easily penetrated.

We live in a sue happy society, and this legislation is sure to come as a blow, especially when one knows the Airlines WERE partly reponsible for the reasons I just said.

But then what can be done? Maybe we are wrong to think that every tragedy in life should result in a law suit. Maybe it is wrong to think like that. No one ever said life had any guarentees. Sometimes, some REALLY bad stuff happens, and there is nothing that can be done to take the pain away.
