We have an interest in supporting democracy" is NeoCon code for empire building.

Oh dear!! You've cracked the code!!! I'll call my fellow Illuminatists immediately!

That is the excuse to interfere everywhere, everywhere, every time.

Nope, just when our interests are threatened.

Take a second for logical thought. Wouldn't it be better if we extricated ourselves from this morass once the new war is won?

If the war has been won, what "mess" are we extracting ourselves from?

The correct answer would not elude even the most simple minded second grader.

I guess that's why you can't understand it, eh Mr. Logic?

The Reform Party was pro-abortion when Pat took the nod. Ross Perot's wife was a Planned Parenthood board member

Very good, we're making progress! Pat changed all that, didn't he?

Then why are you arguing that we should stop supporting Israel? Would the real Vox66 report?

Where does Pat get the arrogance or bravado to question I Believe it is called the 1st Amendment, you remember that relic? It is part of the Bill of Rights we are trying to protect

Maybe America needs a new hate crime to rid the US of thinkers You aren't by any chance a former leader of the Soviet Union are you?

You know, I think you had me fooled, your tongue isn't firmly planted in your cheek is it? Ya know, I communicate exactly like this too, but have a helluva time recognizing it in others.

Ok, now take the next step. What's your solution when the terrorists attack the US for its support of Saudi Arabia?

Did it ever occur to you that supporting Israel may be the right thing to do? They are a democracy, in a region where that is not a growth stock. They are an outpost of civilisation in an area which has none to speak of. Furthermore, Israel was founded by a people whose suffering throughout history can scarcely be imagined - one gets a glimpse by visiting Auschwitz, as I have done. They are our bretheren, and it would be entirely wrong to turn our backs on them.

Basically, your attitude smacks of Neville Chamberlain, who dismissively abandoned Czechoslovakia as a "far away place we know little about". As it turned out, Hitler wasn't done once he'd taken the Czechs, and Britain found itself on the back foot when war did finally come.

Islam threatens us all. Israel is a potent ally in that struggle. You ditch your friends at your peril, and certainly do not increase your safety.

Thanks for illuminating your points, I can disagree with some of them, but not strongly enough to refute them. I think there should be some thought to a several tier system of rights, wherein we have full rights for citizens in good standing, and a sliding scale of rights for others. Those that can be profiled, and seem to be a high risk, could be required to have travel visas even from county to county, and could be arrested at any time without a warrant. In this way our basic freedoms would not suffer greatly, and we could root out the rot that has been allowed to grow here.

Hey, if they don't like it, go home, go to college somewhere else and get a job making $5 a day somewhere.

It wasn't when he switched and while he was campaigning as its candidate, so YOU are wrong (and dishonest, apparently

Pat has always been Pro Life! Pat consistently said pro life was his first priority regardless of the parties platform. Now the party has met his standards which they would have if he had been ellected, then becoming undisputed leader of the party.

Do you really think I'm dishonest? How so?

I would also like to point out to those who think we should withdraw from the Middle East, England withdrew slowly in the face of German threats prior to WWII and it did not prevent WWII.

Also, at Munich, Czechoslovakia was advised, after her breakup, to so remodel her relationships so as to not cause offense to her powerful neighbor. She acceeded to every demand of Nazi Germany. Anyone care to tell me exactly what giving up and becoming suppliant to Nazi Germany did for Czechoslovakia?

The above lessons of history are why I find those who talk of "trying to get along" and changing our foreign policy so as to not give offense to Arab nations rather frightening.

>>That same military that could bomb Iraq into oblivion for ten years but could do nothing to protect the motherland? <<

HorseHillary! All the bombing has done over the last 10 years is waste American taxpayer money. As for "protecting the motherland" goes, maybe you have heard of "Posse Comitatus"? Stopping terrorist before they can act within our borders is the responsibility of civilain agencies, not the military.

>>Tell me, what could your wet-dream military have done to prevent this? Killed everyone everywhere who did not openly profess complete loyalty and love for America and our vaunted "American values"?<<

Don't you worry that with your knee jerking like that about it maybe putting your eye out? Then again, you are obviosly already a blind fool,so I guess it wouldn't make any difference.

>> Not even Stalin had the stomache for that kind of slaughter. <<

I have no doubt you are a big fan of Stalin, and a authority on what he had the stoumach for.

>>Yet you and your neocon buddies scream out for it without blinking an eye.<<

WOW! I've been being called a "traitor" all week for being against nuking half the earth, and now I'm a "neo-con"! Does the fact that you think I am a "neo-con" mean you are a long time con,and fall for the Patsie con?

>> We have vital, national interests in that part of the world because we get most of our oil from there. <<

Agreed. So why do we pursue an Israel "Uber alles" policy there?

That's the leftist communist view. What is most pathetic about Buchanan is he isn't even original.

You're right. Two hundred years ago, that pathetic leftist, George Washington, said the same thing.
