Know Your Enemy
Sept 14? | American in Israel

Posted on 09/18/2001 3:08:03 AM PDT by American in Israel

I posted this on another thread a few days ago and got mail requesting I post it on its own thread. So here goes;

Guys, you had better study up a little on the culture before you go in shooting. Not an insult, it is coming from the "know your enemies" book of tactics.

For instance, you should have known when the Taliban said Oslama "is our guest" that there is no way they will hand him over. In the desert nomad society that Islam came from, you protect your guests with your life even if you don't like them. Remember the story of the visitors that came to visit Lot in Sodom and Gomorra? Lot offered his daughters to the crowd demanding to sodomize "his guests".  You fight to the death to protect someone "under your tent". Our hasty diplomacy trapped the Taliban by their own culture. I am not saying they would hand Bin Laudin over anyway, I am just saying the way we asked they could not.

Another thing you have to understand about Afghanistan is they are already bombed into the stone age. There are not too many buildings left standing now. They have been in a drought for 4 years, and the average TRUE Afghani is starving to death. The Taliban are nothing but your local Terrorist Islamic mafia family that has wrested control of Afghanistan from the true rulers. The Average Afghani most likely do not even know diddly squat about America. They did not dance in the streets when Americans died, they do not have TV's and the only radio most of them hears is tied to a post in the village square.

If you bomb Afghanistan into dust, will it stop wackos with a handful of high-tech knives? A knife IS a stone age tool! Pay attention to the Israeli's who have lived amongst these enemies for years. You do not stop terrorism by bombing villages, you just create more terrorists. You stop terrorism by attack the source of the terrorism. In Afghanistan's case it is the Taliban. There is already a civil war going on as the Afghani's try to free themselves from the Moslem invaders. If we were patient we could do a fly over taking out 50% of their military might (that is about 100% of what you can hope for with a no-ground assault). Then drop a few supplies like food on the freedom fighters, stand back and watch the problem solve itself. Just like Japan and Germany it is not the people in the streets that are the problem, it is the egomaniac's that have wrested control.

However this is going to ignite a far bigger problem, because the problem is not Afghanistan, it is Radical Islam. The reason Afghanistan was chosen to launch the attack from is precisely because there is not much to bomb there. Do not forget that the strings from Oslama are leading back to Syria, Libya, Egypt and most of all Saudi Arabia. You might ask why would Saudi do this, "we saved their asses from Saddam"? If you can not answer that question, you are fighting the shadows and do not understand the war you are in! Fail to know your enemy and you will be setup.

Think, come on what is the answer? All the money for this operation came from Saudi. The pilots came from all over but "follow the money."

The answer is this question, where is the block of rock that all Moslems worship? What nation of all nations controls Mecca, the holy city of Islam? That block of rock is the "Holy of Holies of Islam". All Moslems are required to travel to Mecca and walk around that block. Not just Radical Islamic’s, but ALL Moslems. It is one of their five commandments. The root of their religion.

You guessed it, our war is with Islam. Saudi Arabia is THE core of Islam, Radical or Non-Radical version. Islam teaches a very mild, religious purity type of religion until they get big enough in the host country, then out comes the fire and blood conversion speeches. A civil war is started, and one more empire bites the dust. It may take generations to get a big enough foothold, but desert people are very patient. Is not much to do in the desert but sit in the shade and watch the rocks grow.

When this attack goes down, every Islamic nation in the world is REQUIRED to declare war on America by the Koran. They are however NOT required to do so publicly. They are told by the clerics when the truth does not bring about the result you desire, it is better to lie to an infidel. Sure we made a coalition in the middle east in the Gulf War. They even thanked us, and even Kuwaiti declared war on us, BECAUSE AN INFIDEL RAISED HIS HAND TO SMITE A MOSLEM. Back stabbing your temporary allies is a way of life in the desert, if it had not been for the foundational rule that you protect your guests under your tent with your life, there would be no civilization in the deserts of Arabia. It is the foundation of their society.

You think the Arabs do not know Americans will Rally-Ho to a war? Think again, we are VERY predictable. We do so every time in history. Now we have ourselves landing troops in the only ISLAMIC nation that has nukes to invade its ISLAMIC neighbors. Do not forget that Pakistan is one of ONLY THREE nations to recognize the Taliban Authority as the valid rulers of Afghanistan. They are the Taliban’s BEST BUDDIES. Just think, Pakistan with nukes, and the entire forward arm of the American Army landing in one spot there. One nuclear car bomb and America is defenseless. Think also that China is the only world class nation to align with the Taliban after the Trade Center Bombing. Russia spent 10 years there setting up a puppet government.

I say go get them, but when you see the three greatest historical enemies of America in a huddle, better get your eyes open before you go stumbling in. I personally think this is a trap. If played right, this can set America up for invasion like nothing else ever has.

Show Restraint all right, go into war right before God, with your eyes open and ready for anything. Hunt your enemies down and destroy every one to the last man. But don't get all in a Rage and run off half-cocked trusting in your fancy toys, or you will be predictable and have high losses.

This is going to be a very difficult war, High Tech vs Stone Age. In case you have not noticed this is the arena that High Tech is the least suited and has the least advantage. In this scenario I will trade in a cruise missile with a nuke for a single marine. The marine will get the job done far better. BUT he has little advantage due to high-tech toys.

This strike against the WTC is a setup. We HAVE to respond, but lets think out the opening move well. Keep in mind the the suddenly friendly Russians at the front door are currently probing our air defenses at the back door. These same Russians have signed a mutual treaty against "American Aggression" within the last two years with China.

China has obtained Aircraft carriers. That is a thing they have no use for in invading Taiwan, China is an unsinkable Aircraft Carrier. Aircraft Carriers are for FORWARD force projection. Also interesting China has secured the panama canal and placed bases on the tip of the cape horn. Plug the canal, nuke the shores of America and send all those Costco ships over to the states under Aircraft Carriers air cover, and you got invasion. With the Pac/Lant sea lanes blocked, we have not got enough time to respond.

Thanks to Clintoon, the situation in the States is so bad right now that, if you join the National Guard, you get an overseas billet. We have our army spread out around the world fighting fires, Who might I ask are going to stop an Invasion if our Main Army is cutoff over seas? What better spot on earth to cut off our Army than little land-locked Afghanistan? Do not forget that the Russians are the worlds best Chess Players.

Read Isaiah 14-19. If the scenario I have shown above happens, and America responds with a full nuclear strike on the offending nations, only to be backstabbed in return by China/Russia pact, this prophecy will be fulfilled in its entirety. Many people suspect that Isaiah 18 is the Invasion of America. When is a branch pruned from the vine? When it shows no fruit. When is the shofar blown? In the feast of Trumpets. That time is now, in the next couple of weeks. (Let the reader understand)

Open your eyes boys, this is a setup. Don't step in the trap. I am not saying don't step, just don't step in the trap. Get your hearts right before God, so your eyes will be fully open."

Islam or no Islam, every man must eat and drink. If you starve him and poison his wells, he dies. A commando approach is probably the best method of killing the people who masterminded this.

You call this a trap. If all Muslims wish death upon the U.S., we will have no choice but to protect ourselves against all of them. If that becomes a nuclear option, then so be it.

The people of Afganistan will be visited upon by some tough times real soon. If they can't bend their customs to turn over a mass murderer then it is their choice to be subjected to what ever comes down the pipe. I understand that many arabs live by the "if Allah wills it" mentality, the fact is they still have free will and if they fear the wrath of Allah more than the United States then they are in for a test of faith.

Everyone in the world expects us to bend and sway to suit them, but we are not allowed to expect them to budge. News flash, WE GOT THE NUKES!!! and the most powerful military, industry, economy, and allies on the planet. Do as we say and no one will get hurt (except those that need it).

Quit feeling sorry for people who pretend that they cannot do the right thing because of customs or religion, it is just a convinient facade to sway people to their side.

You have made some excellent points--and I can only hope and pray that someone in the military command understands these points you have made. I believe there is too much politics amoung the top brass and too little common sense after 8 years of clinton.

Dang...it's hard to believe I was in Saudi almost 19 years ago seeking to make a small fortune at drilling for water--everything you say about their culture rings true. When our scraggly bunch of roughnecks arrived in Jiddah international airport-we couldn't help but notice how everyone seemed to be glaring at us.
We headed for the bathrooms after clearing customs--and had our first experience with Arab bathrooms--only one toilet--the rest were just stalls with a hole in the floor-the fact that we were the foriegners here --really hit home at that point.
We must have really looked dis-combulated after that...because an American drinking coffee-called us over to his table-and said "You boys better sit down and listen to what I have to say right now!"
We found out that he had been in-country for 14 years--and he filled us in on what we needed to do to keep ourselves out of trouble....

God must have been lookin out for us-because by the time he finished lecturing us-we realized we almost didn't make it out the airport-because of our naivete-even tho we had been briefed prior to departure from the US-he gave us many inside tips to avoid trouble with the "holy men"--it saved our butts.

So...thanx for the advice--I just hope our leaders understand these things too...have a good one....

Probably one of the better analysis on the underlying issues in the public domain. We would love to go in an dbomb them back to the stone age, but they are already there. As the text points out, they have to be hit where they can be hurt and that is not by just redoing what the Soviets tried for 10 long years.

Pakistani journalist attacks Afghan policy

UPI, March 28, 2001

LAHORE, Pakistan, March 28 (UPI) -- A leading Pakistani journalist has attacked the Islamabad government's support for the Taliban in Afghanistan, charging it has made Pakistan disliked by ordinary Afghans, isolated in the world and impaired vital domestic programs.

In a speech before the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, a non-governmental organization that met in Lahore, Ahmed Rashid, author of the highly regarded book, "Taliban: Militant Islam, Oil, and Fundamentalism in Central Asia," asserted that, "For the past 10 years, every single ministry in Islamabad, every single domestic policy program, even our desperately needed economic revival are partially being held hostage by our Afghan policy -- whether it is trying to encourage foreign investment, dealing with the sectarian issue (of differing Islamic groups), promoting modern educational program or ending our diplomatic isolation."

Rashid, who writes for the Daily Telegraph of London and the Far Eastern Economic Review, as well as the Lahore newspaper, was making his acceptance speech on March 25 as recipient the annual Nisar Osmanli Award for Courage in Journalism. Rashid has covered war-wracked Afghanistan for the past 23 years, often at great risk to himself.

The following is a shortened version of his acceptance speech:

"Much as I respect and admire the Afghan people, as a Pakistani I can only want, first and foremost, the best for my own country. For too long we have all stood as silent spectators and watched as Pakistan's political and economic development and progress is sacrificed on the altar of a foreign policy wanting to support one or other Afghan faction and committing excesses of interference, which has only encouraged other neighboring states to step up their interference in Afghanistan.

"Pakistan played a heroic role in supporting the Afghan people's resistance to the invasion by Soviet troops in 1979. At great risk to its own integrity Pakistan hosted millions of Afghan refugees, allowed its soil to be used for Western military supplies to the Afghan Mujheddin and internationally advocated the territorial independence and integrity of the Afghan state. Why is it today that every ordinary Afghan you speak to has not a kind word to say about Pakistan?

"In fact, since Kabul fell to the Mujheddin in 1992, our policies have created a wave of criticism and even hatred for Pakistan amongst many Afghans. The majority of Afghans blame us for being the single biggest contributor to the continuing war in their homeland. Today we stand isolated in the community of nations due to our Afghan policy. We stand isolated in the region as all our neighbors condemn our policies, while they send munitions to opposing factions in Afghanistan.

"Let us not beat around the bush here. For the past 10 years successive elected and non-elected governments in Islamabad have poured munitions and logistic backing in support of first one, and then another, Afghan faction. Quite separately during the past seven years, between 50,000-60,000 young Pakistani militants have gone to fight in Afghanistan. Many have died there never to return, many have participated in the worst ethnic and sectarian massacres that have taken place in Afghanistan history. Pakistani interference has contributed to the enormous human suffering in Afghanistan.

"Pakistani munitions have helped destroy Afghan cities and villages and given the justification for other neighboring countries to do the same. I ask you here today, with such policies have we embraced the Afghan people or have we created more hatred for ourselves and tension in the region? As Afghanistan s largest neighbor, should Pakistan have a policy and a role as a peace maker by treating all Afghan ethnic groups equally, or should we continue to take sides in their war?

"Today Afghanistan is utterly destroyed, there is no functioning state, the humanitarian crisis there is the gravest in the world, the country is the center for the export of Islamic extremism across the region, terrorism, heroin and weapons. The reason is not the fault of the poor Afghan people, but the ambitions of a handful of ambitious warlords and the continued interference of outside powers who fuel this war. I can safely tell you, cut the supplies of military equipment to all sides and the war machines will dry up within months.

"What has been the result of these policies for Pakistan's internal dynamics? In the 1980s we suffered from the spread of what was then called the kalashnikov culture. Today I do not need to tell you that the situation is much worse. For the past 10 years every single ministry in Islamabad, every single domestic policy program, even our desperately needed economic revival, are partially being held hostage by our Afghan policy -- whether it is trying to encourage foreign investment, dealing with the sectarian issue (of differing Islamic groups), promoting modern educational programs or ending our diplomatic isolation.

"Why are we pursuing such policies? We are told that we need a friendly regime in Kabul so that we can acquire strategic depth

In the 1965 war against India, Iran provided us true strategic depth by allowing our warplanes and ships to use their ports and air bases, but today Iran is bitterly antagonistic to Pakistan because of our Afghan policy. Today the Central Asian republics (Kazakstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan) are busy extraditing all Pakistanis, be they businessmen, traders or students, accusing them unjustifiably in most cases, of promoting radical Islam and unrest in their countries. India has now fully jumped into the Afghan fray by providing military equipment to an opposing Afghan faction (the Northern Alliance led by Ahmad Shah Mas'ud that opposes the Taliban). I ask you, is this the way to make friends or create new export markets for our goods or tame the dangers of sectarianism and religious extremism or promote democracy?

"How can a country like Pakistan faced with such monumental economic, ethnic, sectarian and political problems justify its policy of involvement in the war next door? This has only been possible because of the total silence and acquiescence of Pakistan's politicians, the partial silence from civil society and the media and the insistence of the military in maintaining the status quo while refusing to consider policy alternatives. What is desperately needed today is courage by all Pakistanis to question where these policies are taking us and to demand information and debate of what they mean for us and the future of our children.

"I would like to end now, but not before offering an apology. In my personal and humble capacity I would like to apologize to the brave Afghan people for the consequences of Pakistan's recent policies in Afghanistan. I would like to unconditionally apologize for the deaths of countless Afghans, which have been caused by Pakistani interference. I would like to apologize for the part that we have played in the destruction of your cities, your culture, your traditions and your freedom to choose your own government. As a small tribute to the Afghan people, I would like to return this award of Rupees 100,000 ($1,660) to the HRCP, with the stipulation that they use it for the benefit of Afghanistan's suffering women and children." h t t p : / / w w w . r a w a . o r g

Good Sense Not Found Among Americans

I suspect it is indeed a trap.  From God.  A whole nation full of Ahabs, who want blessing but refuse obedience.

It was the Anniversary of the betrayal of Israel, "The Peace Process", that the attack occured.  They are so deep into their denials that civil war appears imminent if a full scale war begins.  Thats why the president belabors the obvious-- "unity".  Because they are divided.  Divided primarily along racial and doctrinal faults: the Nation of Islam and the eco-pagans.  Both of whom are well organized and ready for a fight.

I suspect Avi Lipkin is right when he said Israel will be safer than America.

Thank you! I was hammered on a thread I posted a few days ago when I suggested that Saudi is the head of the viper. I could never express myself as well as you have, but think the same.

Question: Do you think that Iraq may be NOT involved in this at all? Hussein most likely fears the Islamic militants as he is not one of them... A strange bedfellow perhaps..

You guessed it, our war is with Islam.

This is not going to be conceded by the US establishment.
