Fusion things have been hectic. I always thought it odd that before the NATO bombing the KLA were receiving training from both the U.S. and from Islamic extremists from Afghanistan. Considering the history of the two sides it seemed quite strange but then again when your the underdog the KLA will take what it can get. The big question is who the KLA wants to hang around with now, considering the strong dislike by the U.S. for Muslim terrorists. The eminent overthrow of the Muslim extremists in Afghanistan will happen and the KLA connection to them may cause some difficulty with the so called love affair with the United States. Time to take a side and stop playing both ends? The over through of Afghanistan will happen from the inside and the KLA will lose a valuable supply of weapons. The heroin will still flow never the less. Any luck with Peter? Wraith

It is good to hear from you and see that unlike so many others you are still with us. However please do not think my pleasure in seeing your post will keep me from suggesting you are driftng with your thoughts -- you are missing the mark.

The time for sentiment has passed -- leave it to those who find this forum a place to feel good about themselves. And besides, when the Islamic entente kill tens of thousands with their next strike, well, best to have a few tears in reserve.

If you think about it you will realize that the KLA does not get weapons from Afghanistan -- although many fighters received training in the past there. When you realize that the legitimate forces of democratically elected president Aslan Maskhadov in Chechnya receive their Stinger missiles from Kosovo (per the "secret" protocols established by Cheney confidante and Houston neighbour Harlan Crowe on his trip to the province late last year) you can better visualise that the weapons flow West to East.

Also I think you are in error to believe that the Afghan extremists are in a state of "emminent overthrow." While I think the US will prevail if the current leadership can maintain operational integrity (a big if) -- rest assured the Taliban will be running Afghanistan for decades barring an American nuclear strike.

Read Mr D's latest analysis if you are interested. I think Incorrigible posted a link to it somewhere (maybe this thread).

The fallout for the KLA? Negligible -- the US needs them more than ever now. I think more in terms of the political fallout in the US. For example, should Mr D indeed support the Piedmont Congressman Burr against the carpetbagger Elizabeth Dole for the NC Senate seat in the GOP primary -- then I imagine extensive information will be released concerning the recent Islamic entente financial support going to her campaign.

I would imagine this smoking gun -- many of the checks already cashed from the same financial fronts that reaped huge gains selling US airline and insurance stocks short last week -- will knock her out of the box. Then again hubby Bob may make sure that the KLA's mission to liberate the Tetovo Republic and ensure Kosovo independence is not compromised by this current war -- and Mr D may support her....

Politics is a funny business...

So don't even begin to imagine anybody gives a rat's rear end about these Serb apologists and their lunatic attempts to draw linkage between the KLA and the Islamic entente. KLA elements trained in these camps are/were composed primarily of air defence specialists used for the Firebase Aracinovo campaign to interdict Skopje airport with American Stinger missiles -- and urban fighters.

Yes, several dozen urban combat specialists now operating in Tetovo are graduates of these camps. They are primarily used for nighttime attacks against Macedonian police and Serb intelligence assets. These Eastern warriors specialize in the silent kill -- using the blade to slit the throats of their young conscript victims. Sort of a terror thing yes, but used only against combatants as is now the case in Chechnya.

The American goal now to is strike the Afghan air-defence grid as quickly as possible. Already much of it is being dismantled and hidden away. If America waits another week to neutralize these sites it will be too late. Then like Saddam's Scuds, they will always be a hidden threat -- popping up at the most inopportune times to deal US casualties.

As for Peter Chappell, he is one lucky guy as this war has probably won him a reprieve from K-6. Then again, with Americans hunkered down in Banja Luka of all places in Bosnia -- the Islamic entente death squads now hunting Westerners in the Balkans just might do everybody a favour...

Should be most interesting...

The forces of freedom on the move. Europe trembles.
