As much as I applaud the rhetoric, I am concerned that there's really not much the President can say at this point, but this does not stop the press but looking for "news" where there really is none. Each time the President faces reporters (and he has to do that every day to avoid the appearance of "hiding out") he has to say something he did not say the day before to give the appearance of moving forward.

Bush is too good a man, and too good a president to yack about security issues and tip his hands to our enemies - so what is left? Today Bush says he wants bin Laden, "dead or alive." Oooooo say the presstitutes, what does that mean? Ooooo that sounds serious. I think it's obvious that in a war, you want your enemy dead or alive, so that shouldn't be news to anyone. But hey, they have to report something.

Now that Bush has said these words, what does he do tomorrow? Say that he wants to eat bin Laden's liver?

Well, you are a regular nit-picker, aren't you? Personally, I think it is great to have a plain-spoken man who says exactly what he means.

You are assuming that President Bush said this in order to make a sound-bite. On the contrary, he was simply answering a question in a straightforward manner.

Tomorrow we will let Rumsfeld discuss who gets the liver.
