It's just a red bullet headline on my Reuters terminal. No text. Following headline says Paki troops are moving in response. I'll look for a link.

FOX and MSNBC have reported that Afghanistan also has Scud missiles near the Pakistani border.
I think we ought to let the Pakistanis know that we wouldn't object if they wanted to launch a pre-emptive attack (unless of course there is some military reason we don't want them in the way).
I also think we should announce that if the Afghans fire a single missile at Pakistan, we wil do even worse things to them than we would otherwise do.

It is not a matter of a will to fight, it is the fact that the Taliban gets much of its support for members inside Pakistan. Pakistan will be launched into war if they choose to move against the government for aiding western powers... make no mistake here... the Taliban is not bound by borders...

I kind of doubt it. I think Ben Laden will stay near his supporters and not trust to a non-muslim foreign government. Plus, the Pamir valley is very difficult to get into and out of even in high summer. As I remember, the floor of the valley is over 10,000 ft above sea level.

We will wipe them out from the air, wherever they are. The Taliban, as a government and a movement, signed its own death warrant when it sponsored Tuesday's attack on the US, just as surely as the kamikaze pilots who carried it out. It's not surprising, because, just like those hijackers, the mullahs are a bunch of nutball losers with nothing to live for. They are going down, hard and soon.

I have no doubt we can destroy the taliban... but don't think for one minute that they will be less determined and tenacious than the Japanese were in the south pacific... They will fight to the last man. Yeah, but the Japanese people were unified behind the Emperor. Are the Afghan people behind the Taliban, or will most Afghans just try to get out of the way?

Do you think Japan is totally westernized, friend? Friendly, yes. Pacifist, definitely. But westernized, not. And thank goodness for that. Women still act like women. Homosexuals stay in the closet. People still return lost wallets full of cash.

I wonder if Ben Laden is already staying at a military base in Western China somewhere. The Chinese have their own Islamic Fundamentalism problem in their western provinces. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, but not if he is already my enemy.

Remember that the Taliban was created by Pakistani intelligence officers and they will NOT want to destroy it. Also remember that should the Pakistan fundamentalist Muslims take over, they will have instant access to nukes.

Look up Operation Linebacker from Vietnam.

So this is, what, 25,000 towelheads waving sticks and throwing rocks for Allah? Against the well-armed and well-trained Pakistan military? Don't forget that they're armed with box cutting knives too.
To: 12B
This report is untrue according to Fox. A "childish" report says Pakistan. No large troop movements reported.
To: ALL
All non essential personal (US Embassy) are to leave Pakistan now. Reporting from Fox
