Awareness, concern, self-defense are not words of hate. They are, along with words like internment, words which draw on reality, history. History reveals we interned individuals with Japanese, Italian and German backgrounds, during WWII. Among them were found to be several dangerous enemies. Why wouldn't we likewise consider same, now?
Are we just too plain politically correct, too multicultural, to look out for our own well being? Even after Tuesday, 11 Sep. 2001? According to some estimates, there are still upwards of 400 "sleepers", as yet undiscovered infiltrators, waiting to unleash their assigned terrorist acts. Think about it that way, too.
There was virtually no danger from the Americans of Japanese, German or Italian ancestry. In fact one of the most decorated US Army units of WWII was the 442 RCT which was composed primarily of Japanese-Americans. The dangerous enemies of whom you speak were first-generation non-citizens with loyalties to their "homeland".
I expect a similar reaction from Arab(or Islamic)-Americans today. However, the only ones who should be interned are the foreign nationals who are not US citizens.
You are posting your notions about interning all Muslims, getting them out of the country, and the false notion that their religion preaches hate all over FR. We have a policy against racist posts here. Perhaps it's time we asked JimRob to enforce it.
