A patriotic quote...hummm... Our President has been perfectly eloquent this week. Every time he has spoken he has gotten it right. I expect yesterday's remark,"I can hear you... The rest of the world can hear you... And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon!" will be repeated often in the future, much the same as President Reagan's, "Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall.". Similarly, President Bush is strong, determined and focused just as President Reagan was and both men are eternally optimistic.

So, I guess it is time for an optimistic Ronald Reagan quote... it is from an RNC speech in 1984 but it is just as true today as it was then

"The poet called Miss Liberty's torch, "the lamp beside the golden door." Well, that was the entrance to America, and it still is. And now you really know why we're here tonight.

The glistening hope of that lamp is still ours. Every promise every opportunity is still golden in this land. And through that golden door our children can walk into tomorrow with the knowledge that no one can be denied the promise that is America.
