Luke 13:1-9
Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them-- do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."
Then he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?' "'Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.'" (NIV)

"I am absolutely astonished by your callousness and insensitivity. May God have mercy on your sick, twisted soul."Oh, hell..........he didn't mean it that way, and you damned well know it. Save your anger for those who deserve it...........and there are plenty of 'em.

For those of us who belong to Him and trust in Jesus alone, we are secure that no matter what happens we are victorious.

The history of the world from the beginning is but the history of the struggle between the powers of the world, and of hell, against the souls which are humbly devoted to the divine action. In this struggle all the advantage seems to be on the side of pride, yet the victory always remains with humility.Amen. A lesson we all must learn.

From the conclusion, one of my favorite passages in Christian literature:
All these monsters only come into the world to exercise the courage of the children of God, and if these are well trained, God gives them the pleasure of slaying the monsters, and sends fresh athletes into the arena.
And this life is a spectacle to angels, causing continual joy in Heaven, work for saints on earth, and confusion to the devils in hell.
So all that is opposed to the order of God renders it only the more to be adored. All workers of iniquity are slaves of justice, and the divine action builds the heavenly Jerusalem on the ruins of Babylon

Oh, hell..........he didn't mean it that way, and you damned well know it. Save your anger for those who deserve it...........and there are plenty of 'em. Oh, I think I interpreted Keyes for President correctly -- KFP admitted on the record that he/she believes that anyone who doesn't follow his/her religion is doomed. As for sparing my anger, I live in New York City, and I have to see the damage firsthand everyday. If the stolid stench of death doesn't get to you, then the poignant banners for the missing, which are all over the city, should affect you. If not, then how about the fact that the police and miliary are literally on every corner of Manhattan, trying to protect us.
Given that, I have little patience for those who sancitmoniously claim that they understand God's message from this tragedy. If Keyes for President and his/her ilk had any guts in the rightness of their beliefs, they would come up to Times Square and spew their drivel. But they wouldn't have the nerve, because they wouldn't hear the armchair quarterbacking, back-slapping attaboy-isms they're used to on this board.

Good question!

On second thought, why don't you ask Keyes for President. After all, KFP acts like he/she has a hotline to God!

Now, now, Keyes For President is entitled to his opinion. Although I have to agree that it is in poor taste.
Some people just can't get it through their heads that the G-d of the Jews, Christians and Muslims is the same One G-d.
But, that's their hang up.

We're all deeply sorry over what happened there. Many here lost family, friends, associates. It has affected everybody, not just New Yorkers. Still, you're missing the point of this thread, it seems; you interpret it somehow as judgment of those people who were murdered by terrorists on 9/11. That's NOT the point. I reiterate what I said before: save your anger for those who truly deserve it......and again, make no mistake: there are still one hell of a lot of them out there. THAT is our enemy.
God bless.

Do not blame God for the acts of sinful man!
I hold God responsible for his own actions, not man's. He lost my respect after he condemned young children clutching at their mother's hem as the Flood waters rose. The children asking their mothers "What did I do?" as the Flood waters rose to cover their young faces. The young bodies of humanity littered across the Earth, and all because we didn't live up to His expectations. Well F him.
He has a a destructive, vindictive personality, bent on imposing his idea of world order upon a free people. I will have no part of him.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
I'm sure your faith is a great comfort to you.

So was Jesus lying when He said no one comes to the Father except through Him?
