Rob,in todays Atlanta Journal-Constitution editorial section there was an article that made this direct connection and tried to tie the militia movement and the terrorists to the same tree.

I don't remember who wrote it but I believe it may have been some one from the Clinton administration.

In fact, even with domestic political violence continuing to fall, the FBI's counterterrorism budget has grown almost 400 percent since the World Trade Center bombing: from $78.5 million in 1993 to $301.2 million in 1999. The number of FBI agents devoted full-time to counterterrorism has flowered, too, from 550 in 1993 to 1,383 in 1999.

Under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, wiretaps are at an all-time high and the number rises every year. Yet the Bremer Commission proposes removing the few insulating layers of Justice Department review -- essentially letting the FBI set its own, independent wiretap agenda. The Anti-Terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act, a draconian package passed by Congress in 1996, gives the president the broadest authority to prosecute suspected "terrorists" in American history, yet not a single instance of "terrorist fundraising" has surfaced for prosecution. (One of the few worthwhile recommendations in the report -- apparently a sop to commissioner Juliette Kayyem, an Arab-American and Justice Department attorney -- is ending the "secret evidence" trials permitted under that same 1996 law.)

These two paragraphs from the SALON story make the whole thing even WORSE. After all the elephantine growth of "counterintelligence," the fact the FBI had three of the kamikaze camel jockeys in their custody and let them go, and Israel requested extradition on another, STILL 19 camel jockeys armed with plastic knives were able to murder over 5000 Americans, shut down the entire air transport system, and destroyed part of the Pentagon.

They didn't catch Eric Rudolph, either.

I believe right now, we need to focus on the present and the future. Please forget about past stupidity for the moment. We have a war to fight, people.

Let's focus on some solutions, e.g., deport all illegal aliens IMMEDIATELY. There are millions of illegals here in this country. Can you KNOW what there agenda is by looking at them?

Let's get the citizen militia mobilized, fully armed, and licensed to cross state lines with weapons. Let's get them (YOU AND ME)trained on the basic use of weapons (for those in doubt) and allow them to carry concealed ALL THE TIME!!!

Let's lift the restrictions on spying on terrorists here and abroad.

And those are just a few of the things to get done.

There is MUCH TO DO. Let's focus on getting it done and worry about the idiots who got us into this later (those idiots being the American people, by the way!).
