Well, are the FoxNews on Channel and/or satelite? If so, I should look around for getting them to my set. But seriously: Could someone of you guess what proportion of US citizens really understand what is going on and that the retaliation has to be REALLY painfull (preferentially not for us but for them), since otherwise we're in BIG S#$T? You know what I mean: the support here in Europe was overwhelming in the beginning, but many of my co-citizens hope it was over after a few vigils and masses. The same seems to be true with many media, and I was really happy as hell when I hit the freerepublic forums yesterday (lost A LOT of hours just reading before filling the reg. form). Before, I watched the news mainly on internet, 'cause I have job wirth computer and so could do it at work (well - I was working long time but the work did not seem to get done ;-), and all the "major" sources (NYT, BBC, Washington Post, major Czech newspapers) seemed to me increasingly pacifist and defeatist. Well - I wish I could be pacifist, nothing wrong about this, but only when noone attacks you... Cheers, Konva

Hi Kovna,
I think we know how bad this is. A lot of us have been up all night going over things and arguing amongst ourselves. There are threads on the United States of Islam... and another on bin Laden meeting Dawood.
It may be worse that originally thought, but better to know that now. Its a horrible mess.
By the way, my Uncle was Chech and Slav. They're family still has family there. And me, I'm half Lithuanian.
Welcome to Free Republic. Its a good place to get educated on what's going on.

Dear konva, This is a sea change in America, and, you know what? It now doesn't matter whether the newspapers or the Europeans like what we do or not.
