"We have the chance to grow up before we grow old."
Now is our time. Those of us who coasted through an idyllic 50's childhood, who came of age in the indulgent 60's and 70's, who have coasted through life without shouldering any responsibilities, now must bear the weight of the nation. We will prove to the world that we are not the indulged baby-boomers or the cynical slackers. We must rise to the challenge and defend our nation.
The commitment of our fathers is the calling of our time.
Thanks for the flag, sinkspur.
The commitment of our fathers is the calling of our time.
I am old enough to be part of what was then called the "Post-war Baby Boom." Most of us were raised by parents who went through the Depression and World War II, and didn't want their children to have to suffer as they did, so our generation was given too much, and too little was expected of us.
I believe this may well be the most critical moment in our lives. We have a 'post-war' President who has the strength, courage, character and leadership to help our soft generation rise to the challenge before us. He is a student of history who understands the "commitment of our fathers," and I firmly believe that he has answered the call that God has given him to lead us through this dark hour.
God bless George W. Bush, and give him the wisdom and strength he needs to bring this war against evil to victory!
