FYI and DISCUSSION.

Queenie is a good old girl for sure. She probably remembers, as do many older Europeans, the bombing of London during WW2 and knows from experience how dreadful these things are.

Yeah, but I got a problem with folks who have never washed a dish in their lives nor pulled a shade. Easy for her to say. I hope that England does away with her monarchy -what good are they anyway? The sooner the better...

My nephew studying in Edinburgh, Scotland said the response there has been very supportive and touching. God bless America and all who support her.

The Queen has a good heart. It speaks well of Britain that Britain has such a heart.

I hope that England does away with her monarchy -what good are they anyway? One may as well ask, what good does our flag do us? Our statue of Liberty?
Symbols are important. Her throne is a thousand years old. Her scepter is their memory. Her crown is their glory.
We have chosen a different path, but they have their path.
Both paths may yet lead to the mountain top.

While many times I am harsh towards Britain for progressing towards the socialist end of the spectrum, when the chips are down they always support the USA. Thanks guys.

I heard Tony Blair give an absolutely EXCELLENT speech today. Almost made me forgive him for all his Clinton coddling.
In a bit of levity, what the heck is on the queens hat? It looks like the rings of saturn. She looks like Jane Jetson in black.

I AGREE.

Nice words.
Her lot in life was chosen for her, yet she wears the crown well.
God Save the Queen!

I have been watching the BBC and many of the political party heads are saying how they should not give the united states a blank check. Even tony blairs party is saying that. He has a lot of balls going up against heads of his party. France and Germany is not being as supportive as they should be also.

Lucy1, your post was extremely disrespectful and innane.
This country has only two decent allies right now and the Queen represents one of them.
I'd wager that her contributions during World War 2 would dwarf anything you've yet done.
Cheers!

folks who have never washed a dish in their lives nor pulled a shade There may be such people, but the Queen of England isn't one of them.
To: PoisedWoman
I agree and unlike the younger generation, the queen's generation remembers and appreciates the sacrifice of Americans on D-Day at Normandy.

I haven't cried in a long time; but, I was choked up big time when I was told the Star Spangled Banner was played during the Changing of the Gaurd the other day. It shook my right out of the numb shock of Tuesday. I was helping a customer on the phone and nearly couldn't speak to do my job. The Brits sometimes confuse me; but, they are Good people with a Big heart and they love us as much as most of us love them. We eye them suspiciously as children, then grow to love them as we age. They are the mother country, whatever our past histories have been. God save the Queen and Bless our Wonderful President!
