Masood dead: French foreign minister

PARIS, Sept 14 (AFP) - French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine said Friday that "it appears to be confirmed that commander Ahmad Shah Masood, the head of the Afghan opposition, has died".

"Unfortunately it seems to be confirmed that commander Masood died in the attack of which he was a victim," Vedrine told reporters.

"This assassination causes me great sadness."

According to his aides, Masood, 49, was the target of an assassination plot carried out by two Arabs posing as journalists who detonated a bomb during an interview on Sunday.

Too bad our own national media couldn't find it in their hearts to assassinate bin Laden when they interviewed him recently.

I nominate Peterless Jennings as a suicide bomber.

We have so many worthless journalists to chose from! Maybe they should just take the corporate jet and run it into Bin Losers place. Luke 22:36 (KJV) --Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Got sword? (M1 Garand)

No mercy, no quarter!
May the jihadists burn in hell for eternity!
Help speed them on their way!

Molon Labe!

We needed him! Why did America not help Masood's forces sooner?

Because Masood was an extremist anti-Western militia leader supported by terrorist state Iran and because if the Northern Alliance returned to power in Afghanistan, they would not be any less anti-American than the Taliban, maybe just a little less militant. If he had been pro-Western, the US would have been supplying him with arms years ago.

That being said, I do think that the US and the Russians should coordinate and plan our attacks with the Northern Alliance to defeat the more immediate threat of the Taleban.

Vedrin is another French socialite and Massood works for the Russians. Massood? Thanks but no thanks. This is a crocodile's tears set up to get the populace to support a "joint" Western Russian assault against the Middle East, in which us enuchs of the West are not capable of handling.

Roosevelt got already screwed by Stalin, US forces in Japan were betrayed by their Russian "allies" in WWII when US positions were indicated to Japan by the Russians, and now the elite leftist world wants us to make a final jump into another Russo-oriental screwie deal that we are simply too stupid to handle properly given how we are forgetting our prime objectives of protecting our population through offensive weapons and war shelters for our population that is still laying naked.

Why go over seas and fight when we do not have such capability, let alone any gutso and moral esteem to go about a conquest that would be the only sure way of securing our security?

AMerica has been a great country because it once understood that to avoid the domination of monarchies of England, Spain and various Indian tribes, territories held by these had to be taken and settled by force. Nowadays, instead of spreading and settling, we abort children and we build security out of tooth pick gun boat policies. Worse, we even tell present day friends such as Israel, to give up territories to terrorist to appease them.

I do not like the way things are blowing lately. I wish our president had the guts to say this: "come men, an enemy yonder obliterates us by the use of his land's resources. By law, surely, the enemy, good or bad, lovable or not, has to be confiscated of these lands. By such inalienable right and decree, we have a duty, and not merely a right, to volunteer settlers to settle those lands occupied by evil, so that at least good will prevail home and there."

But no, what do we have? We have a bunch of screwie deals and crapy hopes of a bunch of EUropean losers who have completely lost reality on how to religiously, and with G_d, deal with evil: confiscate its means of existence for ever.

Moraly speaking we are in trouble indeed, we have no balls, no confindence at all. We end up being the yes people of China and RUssia in a war against muslim "terrorists" that are boy scouts compared to Chinese and RUssians.

I believe in G_d by the logic and law of belief and allowable assumption making, hence I believe, by this law, that G_d will indeed come and settle this once and for all soon, be I dead in sin, or not, saved or not, it will happen. Amen!

THis quote is key in contrasting with present day moral corruption of the people in the US today, especialy concerning liberals. So many people are concerned about how they look and what garment they wear, especialy in Wall Street (I work at an investment bank and I know what I am talking about), yet, talk about swords and guns, and they'll think you're a red neck. Now that their World Trade Center towers have been brought down, I must not look so red neck to them after all.... bunch of idiots, you tell me!

I consider being called a redneck a great compliment. Those who consider you a redneck, are just acknowledging your superior character and morals ;^).

The fate of Masood was the result of CIA and State Dept. bungling under Clinton regime. Taliban was created by Pakistan with the full blessing of U.S. He was badly outnumbered. He had to find allies who can help him. Iran hates Pathans, i.e., Talibans, the rabid Sunni fundamentalist too militant even for Shi'te Iranians' taste. Besides, they have mutual enmity reaching back centries. Then Masood's onetime nemesis, Russians and their allies, Uzbek militia of Rashid Dostum. In short, he allied with ex-commies, their allies and Shi'ite regime in Iran. While Masood's regime would have been islamic republic of some kind, I don't think it would be on the same level as Iran or current Pakistan. And my guess is that he won't be the one who spearhead the international Jihad.

Agreed! The lands of those who did this, should be ours. See the link I posted earlier The Spoils of War - Stake Your Claim. It is believed that Ben Laden is in Kandahar Province. I would not suggest staking any land there because of the possibility that we will drop "specials" on it, i.e, it may turn to glass.

However, I hope you are wrong about our will. What you describe is America before 9/11/01. After that day, I heard a grandmother on talk radio here in Austin say that if it where up to her, she would personally be on the front lines. The receptionist at my wifes OB stated that she wishes the women and children of these monsters dead.

We are in a new era.

Reporters to be taken to Afghanistan to see Masood

DUSHANBE (Reuters) - Afghan opposition officials in Tajikistan have invited journalists to Afghanistan to see opposition guerrilla leader Ahmad Shah Masood, whose fate has remained unknown since an assassination attempt a week ago.

Diplomats from the Afghan embassy in Tajikistan which is controlled by Masood's Northern Alliance did not make clear whether he was alive or dead when they offered to fly the reporters to the Alliance's stronghold in the Panjsher valley.

They were expected to arrive there later on Saturday.

Acting ambassador to Tajikistan Muhdddin Mehdi told Reuters on Friday that Masood was unlikely to recover from wounds sustained in the assassination attempt last Sunday.

The Pakistan-based Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) reported on Friday that Masood had died but a Paris-based spokesman for the Afghan leader said he was still clinging to life.

Masood is the strongest opponent of radical Taliban regime, which controls most of Afghanistan. His condition and the fate of the Alliance have come under the international spotlight amid talk of possible retaliation against the Taliban for hosting Osama bin Laden, linked by U.S. officials to Tuesday's terror attack on the United States.
