I hope the people who have ridiculed his speaking abilities are feeling pretty stupid right now.

Awesome!
To: Bommer
Thanks for posting it Boomer I didn't get to hear it. My wife just called in tears and said it was one of most touching speeches she has heard.

Wrongo. To Steffy and Peter Jennings it wasn't a real speech, a few excerpts aside. Liberals think Bill Clinton was the Great Communicator. To them this President is definitely not in the same league. They're still pinching themselves in the hope the last eight years are not yet over. There's only person who could make a speech Steffy and PJ would have approved of and its the one the cameras spent a lot of suck-up time to during the service.
To: Bommer
Thank GOD we have GWB leading our country in its critical time--leading us through the darkness which the Clintons, with all their hearts and efforts and actions the previous 8 years, helped to create.
To: Bommer
An outstanding speech.

It left me in tears and I hardly ever cry. God had given us the right leader at the right time.

Unfortunately the pyscho Bush haters on the left and on the extreme right hate America and Americans and what President Bush stands for.
So they will continue their vile hate GW mantras which show the true psychotic nature of their truly mentally sick CNS systems! (Notice I didn't type in brains. They are like amoebas with no brain, just some pre historic and limited CNS systems!)

Nothing against this fine speech, but it just made me ill to learn that the Impeached Rapist was at this event, soiling the National Cathedral and rubbing salt in our wounds. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
I wonder if any reporters asked King William if he would be apologizing to the victims' families if any of these terrorists are traced back to the 11 Puerto Rican terrorists he released to help his wife's Senate campaign?

"In every generation, the world has produced enemies of human freedom. They have attacked America because we are freedom's home and defender, and the commitment of our fathers is now the calling of our time." Indeed, this was a magnificent speech.
To: Bommer
It was tremendously moving with many good strong quotable lines. One that comes to mind: "Adversity introduces us to ourselves."

Thanks for posting it Boomer I didn't get to hear it. My wife just called in tears and said it was one of most touching speeches she has heard. I could not agree more. The delivery and the words were beyond anyone's expectation. Bush, Sr., was so moved that he clasped his son's hand when he sat down.

Did anyone see this on TV. I would love to get feedback. The two ultra-liberals of Boston talk radio, Margery Eagan and Jim Braude, were effusive in praising Bush, and were practically in tears regarding the beauty of the service.
I heard the sung "Our Father," military choir singing "The Battle Hymn of the Republic," and some of the sermons. It was absolutely beautiful.
I missed Bush's speech because I went into a local church to pray. I had to go into the lower church because the upper church prayer service was overflowing. It's a very large church and the people were packed in like sardines. So much so that they were literally falling back through the front doors.

God Bless you President Bush

I heard it. It was incredibly inspiring.
God is answering our prayers for the President.
The Lord has kept Billy Graham around for this day, IMHO. His sermon was vintage Graham. Simple, yet oh so timely and powerful.
The singing of the Battle Hymn of the Republic had me weeping...as they sang, the network showed the continued rescue efforts in NY...and at one point showed the Statue of Liberty, with it's huge American flag at one end of the island streaming gloriously in the strong breeze...
The rain was falling in DC, in NY, and has been falling all day out here in the heartland.
But the national renewal of faith and freedom that we have all been witnessing this week continued, with God's grace clearly being shed on our country.
Today was historic---the catharsis God intends for us all is openly available for any who are willing to open their minds and their hearts.

Yes, and the Sink Emperor worked the camera/crowd outside with a smiling Chelsea in tow. His initial comments from Australia made me think he had
some class or sense of shame. Of course he doesn't. Grifting white trash is as grifting white trash is. The same is true for his wife.
Look at it this way--he bought another 10 minutes of limelight (in his mind) on the deaths of many. The debate is just beginning on how long the planning was (5 years is latest) and should the 'Toon have at least tried to take out Bin Laden when there was apparently the chance (of course) and any responsibility will be accorded as such. And yes, there is the FALN. And Monica/cigars/sinks. And pardons. And stolen furniture. And Chinagate. And, well, there is his legacy and it has not been fully written. Time will not be kind to the 'Toon and his cohorts.

The speech was perfect. God was right there in the midst of all of our leaders in the National Cathedral. President Bush was most wise to call for that prayer service.
I must confess now that as I heard Denise Graves sing out "America" so beautifully and truly, that my heart lurched at the words: "and crown thy good with brotherhood," for those are the very words that stirred my heart and soul for God and my nation when I was just a child. With that childlike belief, hope, pride and love, I say to all Americans whose pledge is true to our country, regardless of your race, religion, politics or background, you are my brothers and sisters and may God strengthen and protect us. Grant the victory of Love over hate to each of our souls. Amen.
