I totally agree with the author's observation. All of the terrorist organizations, such as the German, Middle Eastern, and probably the IRA organizations, were supported by the USSR to foment instability throughout the world. I have never trusted that "Russia" gave up its communist ways. The USSR always supported the third-world countries in the Middle East: Libya, Syria, Iran, Iraq, and Egypt. Most of these countries have been training grounds for the terrorists. The USSR set world-wide terrorism in motion; but I believe that the organizations have taken on a life of their own, with new masters who have made it to the top of their governments (as in Saddam Hussein or Bin Laden).
I know many of you will think I've gone off the deep end, but I believe that we will be unsuccessful at rooting out terrorism. We will have small successes; but the terrorists will, too, perhaps next time using nuclear-type attacks or biological/chemical weapons. The war will escalate to include more nations, with North Korea, China, and, perhaps, Russia, taking sides against the United States and Israel, with its handful of supporters. We may even be emasculated to where we are left totally ineffective. Then will come the "peacemaker" (also known as the Anti-Christ). I believe it will come to pass in the next few years.
