They (the muslims) have been celebrating here in New York City and surronding counties and states. At least two that I know of muslim enclaves in Brooklyn have been celebrating the successful attacks. Cheering and dancing in the streets have been going on in Paterson, NJ and in a smaller scale in Connecticut.

Why are Americans allowing this? We are at war, and this is the enemy.

Actually, my friend, their faith is based upon worship of the One, Same God that we worship. What you see is twisting of that faith; abomination; desecration of their own holy teachings. I know and see that I am apparently against virtually everyone at free republic, but I believe that an overwhelming majority of Muslims are not evil and do not wish destruction upon the US. One of my best friends is Muslim and a frequent lurker of the forums. I find that most people who migrate to America because of war and conflict in their home country are often more patriotic then most Americans who have lived here their entire lives.

The majority of Southerners in the mid-19th century were actually against slavery. However, they paid a terrible price for those who purported to speak for them..........and also for other reasons of import (i.e. States' rights). The point is, I have made it clear above (as if I had to, for anyone with a brain knows...) that not all Muslims subscribe to such base, genocidal feelings. However, those that you describe are in the minority in the Muslim world. You may deny it; you may not like it; you may claim I'm wrong.........but it's the truth. Again, it's sad, but even the innocent in war pay the price for the guilty.

I'll lay you dollars to donuts that the animals who committed these crimes cared less for their countrymen than you do. Think very, very carefully about that before accusing me of un-Christian attitudes (and I won't divert this thread into Biblical justification for what's coming...........but trust me, it's there). Having read the Koran, I have to disagree that Muslims worship the same god as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the way Jews and Christians do.

Also, in Islam, Christ is not the Son of God, who laid down his life for sinners, He is a coward, who tricked his executioners when they came for him into killing Peter instead. That difference in the religions alone makes ALL the difference.

I say that what we see in the Middle East (their culture; their misery) is the fruit of worshipping the god of the Koran. Ideas (and religions) DO have consequences.

It is true that Jesse Jackson and many, many others twist the Bible, but the evil we witnessed Tuesday is the ultimate fruit of the teachings of Mohammad, as was the brutal conquest of North Africa and large sections of Asia, African slavery, and so many other evils in the world since the madman Mohammad started his conquests. It's not politically correct to say, even on a freedom-loving forum such as this, but it's true, and it's at the base of this particular problem. I don't respect Islam at all - I long for all those under its darkness to come to the Light.

No, Allah is the same God. Islam is an amalgam of several religions (although Muslims are loathe to admit it). They do not worship a "moon god". Muslims can be among the most devout followers of God in the world. The problem is that, throughout their history, there have been those who have twisted their beliefs into such unbelievable abominations that "Islam" is now equated with "terrorism". It's a damned, unfair shame...........but it's reality. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Muslim Sudan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan (sp?), Syria, the Palestinians............all engage in loud, open hatred or seething, quiet anger toward our country. That equates to a majority of Islam.

But again, yes.................they DO, to the surprise of many in this country, worship the same God we do.

i'll take my muslims on a case by case basis as well, thank you. their network was immense and it was involved in this and god knows what other attacks. the ones who aren't blood thirsty jihadists can help identify the ones who are.
