I am long NQ and ES, and will be long Cisco and GE in response to their 14 million dollar contribution to the relief effort in New York.

I will also be short terming some positions as hedges...but will not short at all next week.

I have sell orders in place *only* well above where the markets last closed.

I will be ready to buy or place buy orders when the market opens.

I will watch long enough to buy any bargains from unpatriotic fools who deserve not to prosper.

Now is the time to contribute to your 2001 IRA or other retirement account. Don't want until next April!

Buying on margin now is like investing in war bonds.

This is not really the time to worry about what the market does or doesn't do. If the U.S. tanks there won't be any safe investments anywhere in the world; we'll all be tending sheep and digging potatos. That just isn't going to happen. This coming war could take several years and this will mark the beginning of the Confederacy of Earth. One way or another this will be the last world war. Our next enemy will be something from "out there" or the death of the sun or something like that. OK, I may be getting a little delusional, not much sleep in past few days. Cat naps and nightmares. Tired all the time. Flashes of anger and sorrow. Got to get a copy of my DD214 from the courthouse. Too old right now but Russian and Arabic and BA in Math since the Army (11B-1P) so they might have use for me (huah! airborne! CCo. 2d BN 504th PIR). God help us all and keep us from getting too nuts over all this. Crises is opportunity. After this a free and just society on its' way to the stars or back to the dark ages. Things will be different and we may never know what we've lost or what we have to gain until it's far too late.
