My word to American journalists is not to ask why we did that, but to ask what had their government done that forced us to defend ourselves?

Sounds like Katie Couric doesn't he?

First we should rid our nation Islamic mosques, Islamic believers and their contempt for us. Secondly, we should track down the family members of those terrorist who participated in this weeks attack and kill them. Then we should begin our attacks on their holy sites and terrorist bases. The time for pinprick retaliation is over. If its a "holy war" they want, then it is war they shall have.

I once read an interesting military analysis that said Pearl Harbour, while brilliantly executed, was what doomed the Japanese by causing us to wake up and take notice of the threat. Curiously, it was in a fictional book (Either Winds of War or War and Rememberance by Herman Wouk).

Seems to me Bin Laden, if he is indeed the culprit, has just made the same kind of mistake. He would have been much better off continuing to attack his direct enemies on their own turf. (Needless to say, I am not advocating such attacks, just speculating on strategy).

Note the decentralization of this movement; he applauds people without actually identifying them as his. Also note how sneaky he is:

John Miller: Is it true that when Ramzi Yousef was captured, he was in a guesthouse that you were paying for?

Osama Bin Ladin: What was broadcast in the news and what we learned is that he was captured in Pakistan in a hotel.

Was he paying for the hotel? Let's just say I wouldn't be surprised. But this implies that Bin Ladin did not support Yousef, but does not say so in such a way as to be a lie if he did indeed provide such support. Very Clintonesque, no? The two have a lot more in common than you might think.

Osama Bin Ladin: We have seen in the last decade the decline of the American government and the weakness of the American soldier who is ready to wage Cold Wars and unprepared to fight long wars. This was proven in Beirut when the Marines fled after two explosions. It also proves they can run in less than 24 hours, and this was also repeated in Somalia.

How come this crackpot can see this and our own citizens and government can't? Sad....

Chilling. We've really set an image of ourselves as soft, weakened, and cowardly. Thanks to the liberal anti-American rhetoric of the past 4 decades. Interesting that the place it came home to roost was the very heart of American liberalism. I wonder if the Knee Jerk Times has heard the wake up call. They were close enough. Next time, a hit at the financial district with a tiny 1 kiloton yield suitcase nuke (2,000,000 pounds of tnt, folks), might take out the Times as well. So what is it? Can they look themselves in the mirror after undermining the entire cultural traditions of the West? Think they've had enough? Are they going to drop the spiteful, Marxist crap? Or are they going to die with the rest of us?

You are like the Middle East version of Teddy Roosevelt.

I can't tell if this reporter is a moron, admires Osama, or both.

"The crusaders continued their slaughter of our mothers, sisters and children. America every time makes a decision to support them and prevent weapons from reaching the Muslims, and allow Serbian butchers to slaughter Muslims." Come back Slobo, can you ever forgive us?

"The Americans made a very stupid mistake that no one has made before. They attached the Muslim symbol, the Kibla, of 200 million people. "

Do you know what he is talking about ?
