Daily Prayer Thread 9/13/01

Psalm 112
1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

Heavenly Father, be with each and every one of us today. Lord, there are reports now of attacks on those of Arab descent within the US. These are Americans, just like us. I would ask that You protect the innocent throughout the world, whatever nationality. Allow us to focus on the men and supporters of this heinous act. Judge them and if it be Your Will, allow the United States to carry out the punishment upon the guilty. Father, forgive me of my sins and allow Your Love to show through me today and every day. Make each day a closer walk with You. We lift up the other requests on this thread, spoken and unspoken to You, because these issues are still there. Touch these hearts, let Your Will be done, and give us the patience not to jump ahead of You, but follow You as You open doors, heal hearts and bodies as You see fit. In Christ's Holy Name. Amen

Almighty God, I stand with billbears and gulfcoast6 in their prayers today. Guide and lead us, Oh Mighty God! Hear the cries of Your people, and do not let us fall into sin or the hands of the evil one. Protect and comfort all who have lost loved ones in this cowardly attack, reunite the living with their loved ones and friends, bind up the wounds of all the injured. Father, please send Your mighty angels to aid our rescue workers in their search for survivors. Keep those still alive under the rubble close to Your heart, and lead help to them swiftly. Thank You Father! In Jesus' name...Amen!

Almighty and Most Merciful God...thank You that 5 firefighters were found alive today!!! Thank You Father for comforting and sustaining them while rescuers came to their aid!!! Father, I ask that You remember the cries of all others still trapped beneath the rubble. Send Your strong angels to guard their lives and give them patience until help arrives. Allow these angels to assist our rescuers in every task, to speed their progress. Thank You Heavenly Father!!!

Father, forces are already gathering to diffuse our anger. Citizens within this very country are pandering to the very filth that caused so much pain and sorrow. Father, do not let their voices be heard above those of us crying for justice. Foil any attacks designed to reduce the magnitude of our response to this evil, despicable act of mayhem. Hear the cries for help coming from our fallen fellow citizens and their grieving families, and do not turn from us in our time of great need! Father, support and protect our President and Vice-President. Turn our hearts towards You, Oh Mighty God! In Jesus' name...Amen!
