Embassies become shrines

ROME, Italy -- United States embassies across Europe are becoming shrines to the hijack attack victims.

From Moscow in the east to Dublin in the west, flowers and memorials have been laid at embassies and consulates even as they are sealed off on a heightened state of alert.

This needs to be publicised more - why haven't I heard about this on the 24/7 coverage on the TV. We need to show that, as there are US-haters abroad, so are there US-friends! Just now, I'm watching ABC broadcasting the British Coldstream Guards playing the US National Anthem at their 'Changing of the Guard' ceremony. According to Peter Jennings, it was being played at the request of the Queen Mother. The piece showed the crowd waving US flags, crying and showing emotion. When the Anthem ended, there was a resounding CHEER!

OK, ABC gets a gold star - where are the rest of you media people.
