Amir of supreme military Madzhlisul Shura of mujahideen, Shamil Basayev issued an announcement on Wednesday in connection with air attacks on Washington and New York. The Chechen General, in particular declared. «On behalf of mujahideen, I express condolence with natives and relatives of the lost Americans. The pain, which is experienced today by American citizens, is familiar to us. We sincerely sympathize with them. We know that Russian rockets and bombs, practically each day, since more than two years inflict such a pain of loss in our houses. Multi-Mullion America has lost only ten thousand citizens. One million Chechen people have lost hundred thousand.

I found this snippet interesting:

We are sure, that behind air attacks on USA cannot be no one group or even some groups. Behind similar acts of terrorism can be only the state machinery. We are sure, that behind terrorist attack on your country is Russia. Many facts and organization of acts of terrorism itself speak about it. The purpose of this attack is to undermine power of United States to discredit idea of National Missile Defense and to deprive it from the status of a superpower. We consider, that events in your country can be consequence of the policies of Israel in Near East. Israel will prove too expensive for United States.

What makes them so sure Russia is behind it? If there is evidence, we should see it.

It's as sane a hypohthesis as I've seen elsewhere.

No it's not. In fact it is wildly paranoiac.

It is MUCH more reasonable (another word for sane) to look to the long standing association between Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein's Iraq that brought us the FIRST WTC bombing, thr attack on the Khobar Towers, the African Embassy Bombings and the aborted Asian aircraft highjackings.
