Pakistan in Catch-22 situation Press Trust of India Washington, September 12: The US Secretary of State Colin Powell on Wednesday night evaded a direct reply when asked whether his country would take military action against Pakistan. However, he said the American Ambassador in Islamabad would meet Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Thursday to discuss Pakistani help in dealing with those behind Tuesdays terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. At a press conference in Washington, Powell was asked if US would take military action against Pakistan and Afghanistan if all evidences point to Saudi terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden for Tuesday's strikes, Powell said "We have not made a determination yet who is responsible for yesterday's attacks. But we thought, as we gather information about the attacks, it will be useful to point out to Pakistani leadership at every level that we are expecting their fullest cooperation, help and support as we conduct this investigation and see if they can be helpful in generating information."
