If Congress declares war, it does not need to identify a single country as the enemy.

Political leaders -- from President Bush and Secretary of State Colin L. Powell to Sen. Arlen Specter and others -- yesterday called the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon "acts of war." Mr. Specter, Pennsylvania Republican, said on the Senate floor that the United States can declare war against a group -- not just against nations -- if desired.

Well if we can get any or all, then I say lets hit Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Oman, Lebenon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Aghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Mauritania, and the Sudan... Why mess around when you've got the excuse.

Let us be prepared to take and hold land. To do the job right, we must seize these terrorist camps in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and elsewhere to kill or capture the terrorist vermin. We will need to scour the camps for evidence that will enable us to track down those who have provided support to them. We will have to follow them across any and all international boundaries.

Any nation that harbors terrorists cannot hide behind a claim of neutrality or false friendship. If the Saudis or the Emirates refuse to cooperate, we should seize their national assets (occupy their oil fields, etc) until they "see the light".

We must deliver an ultimatum to countries whose national policies have supported these terrorists: those responsible (as determined by us, not them) must be delivered up for trial at a war crimes tribunal like that held at Nuremberg after WWII.

To elicit cooperation, we will have to make an example of one or two of these countries. I doubt that Iraq will be willing to cough up Saddam Hussein, for example. Bombing alone won't get the job done this time. We have to go in and get him.

We may end up having to establish military occupational governments in some of these countries to do what needs to be done. The process of tracking down and exterminating these vermin make require months, if not years. If that's what it takes, so be it. Let's seize foreign assets, if need be, to help pay for these operations.

There will be casualties. That's the price we will have to pay to get the job done right, once and for all. But we have to do it now, while the national will is there. Otherwise, there will be more (and worse) terrorist acts yet to come. We cannot allow this to go unpunished.
