I admit that when it comes to network security I don't know my big toe from my elbow but I've always assumed that everything I send through the internet ends up on an NSA server and that they know exactly who I am. It wouldn't be so disturbing if congress hadn't spent the last 88 years criminalizing otherwise harmless private activity and by doing so establishing a state religion. After all, the cables carrying this information are owned by companies engaged in interstate commerce and so long as the feds have probable cause and get a search warrant I don't see a problem with everything I ever write being permanently stored somewhere.
