We didn't know he meant an "armchair" war. "We'll track the killers down and bring them to justice" (as long as our methods don't offend the sensibilities of the media or cause the price of gasoline to go up).

In the movie, The Untouchables, Sean Connery's Chicago cop character says, "What are you prepared to do?"

He did not mean, break the law.

He did not mean, will you conduct surveys and consensus meetings and half-measures at bargaining table and then to the next bargaining table ... until this thing is declared by the weak-kneed to be "finished."

He meant, will you stand up and fight to the finish?
