As US airports transition from a complete ground hold for commercial aircraft, Transportation Secretary Mineta has made clear that the skies will be made available for certain purposes which coincide with our national interests.
Therefore, certain humanitarian flights will be allowed to bridge the gap between otherwise-stranded air passengers and their destinations. Into this breach steps AirLifeline Midwest, whose volunteer pilots and aircraft stand ready to coordinate (anywhere throughout the Continental U.S.) and carry out humanitarian flights without charge to their passengers.
AirLifeLine Midwest is aware that certain medical personnel, for example, might desire to pitch in with their efforts to those left in New York, but transportation--especially efficient air travel--may be difficult. Blood and/or organs may need to be transported to those who need them. Over and above things you’ll read on the official website, at this unique time, those who have lost loved ones to Tuesday’s attacks may be deeply desirous of being with their families at this time of extreme grief, but are unable, through financial hardship or transportation problems, to make the trip. These humanitarian flights are intended for these and similar needs.
Please let these experienced, generous pilots share their time, talents, fuel and aircraft to bring you to your destination, especially in this time of unique national distress.
