It's time we defend our border, and shut down illegal immigration and keep out all could be terrorists!

It's a damn disgrace that it takes a massive series of terror acts like this to finally protect our border.

2 weeks ago between Ensenada and Rosarito on the toll road, the Asst Gov of Baja California was gunned down in the highway,....less than 20 minutes from San Diego on the coast road. This occurred as Fox was making his debut in the US. I only saw one mention of it in a local newspaper, but nothing in national news. PRI is known to still rule the area by locals, so I wouldn't feel too secure on the west coast Mexican border.

Look north for catsake! We look at the Mexican border because it's Third World, but forget the porous border with Canada.

Canada is very lax in documentation, partly because of the eternal Quebec separatist movement.

We already know that hijackers used the ferry from Nova Scotia to Maine.

All immigration should be stopped except some immediate family reunificate and only when they are sponsored and will not be be on the dole, and for certain polical and religious persecution cases. This would limit it to between 200,000 to 300,000 people a year. A level that could easily assimulate into Americans, especially since you'd be nearly hand picking them, as a country should.

That's only so that we Texans/Arizonans/New Mexicans/Californians won't take up arms to protect our own borders!

My mom tells a scary story of being a child growing up in Laredo not far from the river during WWII. A tall, blonde, blue-eyed man in a long wool coat (!wool coats NEVER appropriate in Laredo) carrying a funny-looking radio contraption, came to my Mom's door and asked my Grandma to feed him. He pulled out a thick wad of cash and offered to pay her cash (most drifters would offer to cut up some firewood or do chores for food--never cash). Spoke Spanish better than my mom or Grandma--too well. Later that evening, some men came to get my Grandpa and told him to bring his gun. Seems some local urchins had spotted the "visitor" in an abandoned shack where he had built a fire and was "talking a funny language" into a radio. My Grandpa got home and refused to speak about what he'd been out doing. Refused to EVER talk about it. Decades later, stories of Germans parachuting down in Mexico were common.

It doesn't need to get unpleasant for Arab-Americans as you call them. There are plenty of good citizens of such decent.

But we have to keep those out and/or from entering who aren't, and don't love this country, and don't want to be Americans.

Perhaps it's time that the U.S. begin to understand Israel's policy of "moderate force" to force information out of terrorists to prevent the loss of more lives.

Channel (2) CBS LA stated that they checked out the Iraqis and let them go. It described them as just waiting to sneak across the border. Of course we hear that these people were Iraqi Christians. I'm not sure how you check out people with no papers. That isn't the point. The point is that people from all over the world move through Mexico to sneak into the US. They can carry anything they like as they do so.

I hope this will wake up our fellow Americans. Any terrorist from any country could drive right across our border. I would no be surprised if some of these terrorist crossed from Canada or Mexico.
