Researcher: America's Obsession With Sex Reaping Sad Results

(AgapePress) - A spokesman for the American Family Association says he is appalled at a recently released study that reveals that hundreds of thousands of U.S. children are victims in the sex trade.

The study was conducted by the University of Pennsylvania, and it discovered that as many as 400,000 American children are victims of the sex trade, from juvenile pornography and street prostitution, to selling sex at school.

Ed Vitagliano, director of research for the American Family Association, says these staggering statistics have come about because of America’s obsession with sex. “Hopefully people will begin to question the acceptance of godless liberalism which has rejected God’s plans and purposes,” he says. “We are going to reap, unfortunately, the results of the Sexual Revolution for years to come.”

Vitagliano says whenever God’s design and plans are rejected, you run the risk of horrific results. “For a culture that is awash in sexuality everywhere you go, certainly I hope something like this will shock the American public and help them to understand this obsession with sex really does have victims,” he says.

“People who think that prostitution is a victimless crime, or that pornography doesn’t hurt anyone, ought to take a peek at these kinds of numbers.”

Every society is burdened with something ... the radical Islamics are burdened with an overdeveloped suspension of disbelief. The Irish are burdened with memories with a 1000 year capacity. And America is burdened with an obsession about sex.
