Major league baseball postponed its entire schedule of 15 games for the second straight day today following terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, and other sports could soon follow.

The terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon have brought professional and college sports to a standstill nationwide and it was unclear when they would resume.

I have always found sports to be a great outlet. Consider how many of us identify with any level of sports either through participation or simply watching. The longer they are suppressed the more estranged our outlet. This tragedy is now a part of history, needs to be dealt with on a logical basis, and that doesn't mean making the efforts more difficult.

I wish they wouldn't do this. We have to return to normalcy to show the terrorists that America will not be slowed down or setback by their cowardice. OTOH, it might be a practical decision not to "play ball." With the air transportation system shutdown, how are they supposed to move about?
