On Tuesday 09/11/01 there was a post here at FReeRepublic concerning a hijacked aircraft on the ground in Cleveland and another inflight somewhere around Toledo. These reports were attributed to a supposed interview with the Mayor of Cleveland. I've heard absolutely nothing more of this from the controlled media. Now, this morning I read via the Jerusalem Post that a car bomb was stopped on the Washington Bridge on the night of 09/11/01. Once again, nothing heard on the controlled media outlets. What more are the American people not being told? The citizens have a right to know that a sustained threat exists!

CNN and Fox reported that there was no bomb in the van, but the occupants were being held for questioning.

Saw coverage about this last night on CNN. The FBI were apparently being sent to the GWB after NYPD stopped a "suspicious blue van" which was believed to contain explosives.

It was reported last night that the van did not contain explosives. There were a number of posts on FR concerning this. It's possible that the Jerusalem News might be wrong about this.

This article is on the Jerusalem Post website. I have not heard a word about this. I am going to call Fox News and ask why they haven't reported this.

It was reported originally by WCBS in NY, and reported by ABC and CBSMarketwatch. One of the threads even listed a reporter's name who had verified it with Giuliani and the NYC police. The story stated that they had enough explosives to blow the entire span. The mayor came on right after that and said they had been detained for questioning, but had no explosives. Which makes no damn sense. If they were just motorists with nothing to hide, why take them in? They should have just been turned away. Now the Jerusalem Post is running it as fact based on the Army Radio report about it. Maybe they suppressed it to prevent more widespread panic. I mean, look at gas gouging and the world market fall going on.

The citizens have a right to know that a sustained threat exists... Maybe I'm being naive, but...is there anyone in America today who doesn't expect us to be on a war footing at this time? He!!, I even heard an 8-yr-old ask why we weren't getting ready for a war where we invade someone...

Gas lines, ammo and gun sales, and cleaned-out shelves at Sam's were the scene in my medium-sized West Texas city (no tall buildings, no "vulnerable" or "tempting" sites for terrorists). I have a feeling there is some definate "panic control" going on between media and government.

I'm pretty sure from news reports yesterday that this plane was the one that crashed in Penn.

Apparently this plane flew as far west as somewhere over or near Lake Erie and turned back toward the east. This would support both of these rumors since both cities are on Lake Erie.

"Senior law enforcement officials say car bomb explodes outside of State Department in Washington, D-C. Federal protective services later denies car bomb attack occurred."

Sure there was so much confusion at the time but...
