A cellphone conversation between a passenger and his wife may indicate that an act of heroism may have kept one of the airplanes from doing damage and taking more innocent lives.
Tom Burnett, a passenger aboard United Flight 93, reportedly called his wife Deena and told her that the plane he was traveling on had been hijacked and that someone had been stabbed, according to the Knight Ridder news service. Burnett then told his wife “We’re all gonna die, but three of us are going to do something.”
Burnett then reportedly told his wife “I love you honey” before the call ended. United Flight 93 crashed just southeast of Pittsburgh. It was the only hijacked flight of four that didn’t crash into a building Tuesday.
A senior administration official said that the plane that crashed near Pittsburgh was viewed at the time as a potential threat to the White House and was a major reason for the evacuation of the presidential mansion shortly before the plane crashed.

Never before yesterday would I think someone who deliberately crashed a passenger aircraft and killed all survivors could be regarded as brave, but I must say I agree with you completely.
Sadly, this must be ammended to:
Ever again will we die like the state-worshipping cowards we've become.
"This is a war situation we're in," Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, said, adding that Tuesday's tragedy likely would alter Americans' sense of security and lead them to forgo some freedoms for added safety in the future.
I got a better idea you son of a bitch. How about we stop paying you billions to protect yourselves while you make enemies abroad and we take back the right to keep and bear arms. Then we'll be safe from terrorists and tyrants alike.

Today was a tragedy for all of America and to my family, a very personal one. Lynn and my Niece Liz's husband, Jeremy Glick was on United flight 93 this morning. When the Hijackers took control of flight 93. Jeremy called my niece who in-turn conferenced him to 911. Jeremy relayed to the police what was happening as the hijacking unfolded. As our niece Liz listened, Jeremy told the police there were three Arab terrorists with knives and a large red box that they claimed contained a bomb. Jeremy tracked the second by second details and relayed them to the police by phone. After several minutes of describing the scene, Jeremy and several other passengers decided there was nothing to lose by rushing the hijackers. Although United Flight 93 crashed outside of Pittsburgh, with the loss of all souls. Jeremy and the other patriotic heroes saved the lives of many people on the ground that would have died if the Arab terrorists had been able to complete their heinous mission.
Please offer your prayers for all of those who perished or were injured in this tragic of all days and to our niece Liz Glick and her 2-month-old child, Emerson, who are left without their loving Husband and Father. May we remember Jeremy and the other brave souls as heroes, soldiers and Americans' on United flight 93 whom so gallantry gave their lives to save many others.
Lynn, our four adult children and I are headed to New York to be with our family during this time of great sadness

It's quite possible, of course, that if Burnett and those three others had had personal concealed weapons, no one would have had to die--maybe not even the terrorists.
As many of you know, we have people and crews in the Pentagon daily.
Cheryl H******, our Project Manager for the ongoing Pentagon Renovation, arrived at the Pentagon parking lot shortly after the first news of the terrorist attack in NYC. Feeling very uncomfortable about their potential safety concerns at the site, she immediately phoned in to the crew chief inside and relayed her concerns. Although the crew chief indicated he felt they were in a secure environment, Cheryl insisted he and his men report to her in the parking lot immediately to discuss it further from that (safe) vantage point. Within minutes of pulling the men out of the building, the jet struck the Pentagon-they were about 100 feet from the entrance they used at the time of the crash. Most of you probably heard the site of the explosion was in the area being renovated-it was exactly where our people were! There is so doubt Cheryl saved not only her own life but those of the entire crew by trusting her instincts despite others' feelings of security.
We train our Project Managers to be proactive and to anticipate problems before they arise. But no training can substitute for the instincts and sound judgement Cheryl showed in the face of (then) developing national crisis. We are all incredibly grateful for Cheryl's courageous acts of heroism yesterday and are proud to be her associates.
