I needed to laugh, because I'm tired of crying.

The only additional artistic touch I could suggest is festooning a few terrorists from the bridge with decorative hempen neckties, to be followed by a cremation in pigs**** and a burial in a swine sty.

Still...the most I could muster was a weak smile...
In SSF, where I live, my roommates and I heard a foreign voice over a police-type handheld loudspeaker...coming from the town hall. It was an accent we couldn't make out from home, but it was loud, and there were crowd noises too...
We got pissed off. Images filled our mind for some reason of an anti-US protest or some other flag-burning party happening on our own block. We...went running, anticipating the very real possibility that we would confront...something bad. Yes, we kept level heads, and were not out to hit something, so don't worry that we were good 'ole boys looking to whack an Arab, no, not at all.
we rounded the corner, and faced a group holding candles. The loudspeaker was leading a prayer for NYC...and a pretty young mexican girl put a candle in my hand as I stared, dumbstruck, babbling in tears about how she loved this country, and would we join them to pray, and "Have you heard about Jesus"...
Then someone handed me a bible and I cried some more...
Now I know what my Grandfather felt on December 7, '41. I will never forget.
