A Test of Our Resolve...

Posted on 09/11/2001 11:50:19 PM PDT by paleolibertarian

We need to pray that America's leaders exercise good judgment, temperance and moderation in handling this matter. I sincerely hope that we DON'T began indiscriminate attacks against certain designated terrorist countries with NO lines of distinctions between civilians and terrorists. Evil begets evil. It would also be a great tragedy if for the purposes of coming up with a quick answer that the truth is swept under the table. We need an honest and thorough investigation into this incident. Forensics could take weeks to months... just to answer cursory questions about the incident. It is my sincere hope that this tragedy won't paved the road for far-reaching security legislation that tramples over our Constitution and Bill of Rights. But make no mistake, these deplorable people ought to be brought to justice. Let us remember the nation in our prayers tonight.

Osama Bin Laden deserves to die. Period. He's a known terrorist with a record of attacks and threats against the United States. All terrorists that are a national security threat to the United States also deserve to be exterminated. It's time the United States started to take a proactive, Israeli-like approach to these matters.

America needs to stay calm there are implications out of this that haven't even emerged yet,for example 10000 life insurance claims, many of which will be turned down, mortgages for widows and orphans. The list goes on.

If Clinton had handled this problem at the time (1993) we would not be having this problem today. We've already waited 8 years to determine Bin Lauden was the mastermind on that one. How about we just react to the 1993 bombing while we're try to figure out what caused this one.

Let's freeze all arab assets in this country until we can determine how these families will survive this tragedy. Start with all citizens of countries that are celebrating.

Stuff the PC crap. Your "solution" had we taken it after Pearl Harbor would have been a death blow to this country. This, my friend, is OUR generation's " Day of infamy". This is NOT a "criminal act" this was an "act of war".Those of you, so calmly counseling restraint, need to shut the hell up and let the adults take care of this! This is not a damned Tom Clancy novel, this is the real deal and nothing less than a MASSIVE retaliation can be accepted.

Bin Laden is just a hired hit man for the Arab dictators who want to keep "the great satan (America)" front and center as the "enemy". Evil people ALWAYS blame everyone but themselves for the misery they spread. Liberals have been doing it for years in this country. Its how they keep the sheeple under their thumb. If we don't do some serious damage and make a very painful example to a couple of these Arab states who went to war with us today, the next round of attacks will be worse. Taking out Bin Laden ain't going to cut it. We need to send the message loud and clear, the price you pay for fooling with America is way too high, so they won't contemplate another attack.

I think they are trying first to secure our national security by identifing groups of players still in this country. After that is under way, just sit back and watch. They can just go back to the facts of the 1993 bombing and finish what Clinton should have. If proven that Bin Lauden didn't commit this attack, he certainly did commit the 1993 attack. One way of another He's going down

You can't be serious. Moderation? I don't think so. We should show the same moderation, that we showed Germany and Japan in the 1940s.

I agree, taking him out, will not be sufficient. We need to take out a whole bunch more than just him.

Jail! Yeah, that'll teach them.

No, I say we tear them in half, so their guts drag out across the street. Sorry you're such a puss.

"It is my sincere hope that this tragedy won't paved(sic) the road for far-reaching security legislation that tramples over our Constitution and Bill of Rights."

America is at a major crossroad, we can continue to "tighten" security at airports, tighten controls at our borders, isolate ourselves from the world, or in other words, curtail American freedom here in our own country, or we can respond with unprecedented outrage, officially declaring war on these spineless terrorists. Any and all groups, organizations, and/or nations that in any way have or are supporting these brutes will be our enemy, and suffer the consequences. We can no longer accept the murder of innocent Americans, whether abroad or in our own country. We can no longer accept further eroding of our God-given freedom and liberty. We can no longer expect that the US or World legal system will be able to effectively deal with terrorism. We must realize that the only effective means of destroying terrorism is full out military action.

War must be officially declared. Those that commit acts of War against us must be hunted down and destroyed. And as in any war, more innocent lives will be lost. Though, in the long run, many, many more lives will be saved by eliminating the threat.

I think we have been moderate enough don't you? The Kolbi Towers, the Cole, now this? Paying China for storage on the plane they downed? These people only understand one thing, and that is, he who is most brutal wins.

Obviously they mistakenly take our moderate demeanor for weakness. There is a time to reap and a time to sow, a time to plant and a time to pull up that which is planted, and there is a time for war, we are there, so let's be grownups about it and do the hard things.

The people of Afghanistan are responsible for their leaders. When their leaders provide safe haven for a known terrorist and those terrorist's attack us causing upwards of 10,000 dead. Afghanistan, its leaders and its people must be held responsible. This is war. If Afghanistan is responsible then Afghanistan needs to be leveled. It must stand as an example for those states that support and provide comfort to terrorists. Knowing what the result would be, no nation would willingly participate.

No more.

I agree, I want a large number of specificially targeted attacks. Kill all their heads of state.
