I did not weep about any of these events yesterday, but I do now after hearing of this patriotic act. They probably saved the White House.

You wept for the saving of a building--but not the massive loss of life? Get your priorities in order, buddy.

Look, 'buddy', the thousands of lives lost are horrifying, but I didn't know any of those people. I'm sure many of the firefighters and cops acted heroically, but that's their job in these situations, isn't it?

This struck me especially, not because some building was saved, but because of the unsolicited and virtually anonymous sacrifice involved. There's no telling how many lives were preserved at whatever the target was.
