They saved the government by protecting the seat of the government, whether Legislative or Executive. Medals of Freedom for all. This is what I am disappointed that the Pentagon plane's passengers didn't do, but true bravery is rare, which is why we give medals when it occurs.

I don't think we know enough to draw any inferences about the Pentagon flight passengers -- it would have been literally been less than ten minutes from Dulles to the Pentagon by jet, they may not have had time to react. Or they might have tried and failed: remember how small airplane ailes are, you would have to rush them one at a time. Let's just pray we would all have the courage the Pennsylvania passengers had -- and that we never are tested beyond our strength.
