I would agree, except that the Medal of Honor cannot be awarded to civilians. There is some kind of Congressional medal that civilians can receive (I think Richard Petty received it a few years ago), and I'm sure they will all be recognized.

It's the Congressional Medal of Freedom. I'd say give it to every man on the plane, if they can't figure out which three helped the man who called his wife - but that might dilute the medal, so maybe it should be just the one who called. The fact that he stopped to call his wife, one last time, to tell her he loved her, should probably put him over the top.
