Local houses of worship joined those across the country in responding to the terrorist attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center by calling prayer services and offering comfort to a shaken nation.

In Gaithersburg, pastors at Covenant Life Church called a 7:30 p.m. prayer service and spread the word that members should take a break from watching television coverage to commune with God.

I found it so ironic that nearly EVERY person I heard yesterday exhorted people to pray. Well, those who were in school couldn't pray. And, of course, what really makes me mad, is that people who pray every day - not just in a time of emergency - are viewed as wierd and, of course, RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS!!!

Pray. Fly your flag. If you don't have one, buy one. Donate blood. Pray some more, particularly for those families most affected by this crisis.
