A national concealed carry program called "the Skywatch program." Every police officer is automatically included (thus getting over that stupid shit of "I'm from Boston, can I carry in LA?") And gets an ID for it (yeah, I know alot of cops aren't as qualified as most ccw licensees.) Every member of the military who is side arm qualified (especially officers.) And anyone who has a local CCW can apply. They have to show proficiency and maintain with a _minimum_ of 200 rounds per year, yada yada. Then you go to the special booth, show your badge, show that your piece is unloaded and has a glazer mag inserted, and you go to your plane. No muss, no fuss and you can carry anything you want besides (therefore you don't have to worry about you pocket knife anymore.)

Terrorists could probably get one. Yeah? So what? Half the frequent flyers in the US would pick one up, just so they didn't have to hassle with the f**king metal detectors.

Great idea! If they put it into effect, I might even start flying again.

The only time in the past 10 years that I have gotten on an airplane is when I am going overseas. The hassle at the airports with all my computer, projectors, and weapons is not worth it. Besides, if the trip is under 400 miles, most of the time the door to door travel time is better driving.

And you have a lot more room in the vehicle than cramped into those economy seats when you are over 6 foot 5 inches and 260 lbs.
