Another day of infamy

The United States of America has been attacked in an act of war that reminds us of the secret and unprovoked attack on Pearl Harbor 60 years ago. Except this time, the attack was not by a nation-state.

The deliberate and premeditated crash of two commercial airline jets into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and another plane crash at the Pentagon are more than symbolic. They bring into clear focus the state of war that has existed for some time between America and those who oppose our values and way of life.

I'm still not convinced of this. These days, how do you fight the world's only Super Power? I submit you HAVE to do it just the way this Middle Eastern cabal has done.

Look, we know that these terrorists get money, bases, weapons and other supplies from Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, and even our "friends" in Saudi Arabia (and there has even been talk of some disaffected folks in KUWAIT of all places, supporting bin Laden's thugs).

This is an alliance against us. In some cases, though not open about it the official GOVERNMENTS of these nations are involved.

This is enough for me to declare war on them, and establish that we are going in to depose their leaders and IMPOSE democracy on them, the way we imposed it on Japan and Germany.

It's the same. So what if the topography is different now. The results are the same. (NO, WORSE! How many civilians died in any given single day in World War II?)

It's time to stop pretending we don't have enemies. It's time to kick *sses and take names, and show them what a "Great Satan" can REALLY do if provoked.

What are we afraid of? "World opinion"?

Give me a break.

Please... no more references to "a date which will live in infamy." It cheapens the memory of Pearl Harbor and makes this entire incident sound like rehashed Hollywood junk.

Surely we can be more original than this....
