Staff in the Los Angeles office of Cantor Fitzgerald LP listened via telephone Tuesday as chaos unfolded in its New York office minutes after the first plane crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center, according to a person who spoke with the Los Angeles office early Tuesday.

NBC TV in New York has converted their website's message board so people can try to get info on missing friends and relatives, and some who were there, are posting their observations and stories. There are a LOT of posts by people trying to find out about Cantor Fitzgerald emplyees on the board.
