I live in a small town south of Columbus, Ohio. Just saw a plane overhead at high altitude. Unsure of type - did not expect this at all of course and must say I was a little startled. Anyone else seeing any???

The Air Force is not banned from flying. I am sure our boys in blue are up there all over tonight.

I live in Columbus also and saw one at 5:15, then what was confirmed as the President's plane escorted by two fighter jets around 6 and one more later in the evening before dark, probably the same one you saw.

Around 4:30 p.m. I saw two fighter jets fly over my house, about 15 minutes east of Pittsburgh. A half hour later I saw what appeared to be an Apache helicopter flying low over the treetops. I suspect that any city with a USAF or Air National Guard wing/base nearby will see these over the next few days.

The lifeline of many Alaska villages is by air. And, yes, there were just now 2 small planes passing over the house, headed for the airport, which is supposedly closed.

And I live in the flight path of JFK. Eerie - very eerie silence all day w/o those planes flying overhead. I'm with you -- I'll not complain about the noise again.

Yeah, I see plenty of little lights in the sky around here. Of course, I live right next to Ft. Campell, KY. The planes I see are F-16's I guess which are patrolling the airspace over the military base.

No activity to be heard here, very close to Port Columbus International Airport. Very quiet.

Peoria saw the President's plane and escort go over this afternoon. My mom lives in Cleveland near Hopkins airport and commented about how quiet it is.

Dear "lady"......
If we civilians should see any planes flying.....I wonder how prudent it would be to report them. They are probably our boys protecting "us".......Thanks for your concern.....

The military's still in the air. I could swear I heard jet engines tonight...115th Fighter Wing is in Madison. I've been trying all night to download air traffic data for one of my mapping programs. If would be an interesting jpeg to show the clear skies over America tonight.

I'll not complain either, though I am quite surprised that I HAVEN'T heard ANYTHING at all. I live practically next-door to Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. NOT ONE PLANE. I usually hear them all day long.

We are seeing regular flights (deep, rumbling sounds...not like fighters) at high altitude from the west. They are passing directly over our house and all are using the same flight path. I'm assuming they are military/relief flights from Utah, Nevada, Oregon, California, westerm Colorado? Nothing else is moving.
Colorado is sending 300 units of blood to New York tonight. Gas prices haven't started rising yet, still about $1.75/gal. No hysteria...just deadly resolve. The "sleeping giant" is stirring. American flags flying proudly everywhere.

We're up here in the Seattle area.
Saw a large transport type aircract accompanied by a couple of (fighter type?) Jets around 6:00 pm.
We're very close to NAS Whidbey and McChord AFB along with Ft. Lewis and NAS Everett, Bangor Submarine Station etc...
