At the just concluded Mayor's conference, it was announced by an emergency official that "there are people alive inside." When pressed how that was determined, he replied "I can't go into it". Repeated it again about 10 seconds later. Developing.

That hotel would be Marriot World Trade Center, which was right between the two towers. I was there three weeks ago for a Dark Shadows convention. It is surely nothing but rubble now. I still can't believe anyone in the buildings or beneath them survived, but apparently it's true. I hope they can hang on.
