The web is jammed. The hysteria is palpable. The idiocy of our leaders has become apparent.
George Bush has spoken: The tragedy that hit our Nation was an "apparent act of terrorism."
No George. This was not an act of terrorism. This was a blatant act of war. War that was precipitated by America's incessant need to meddle in affairs that do not concern us. War caused by our straying from constitutional restrictions on such meddling to the cheering of the so-called "Hawk's" and "Dove's" who operate and rationalize under the guise of "U.S. Interests."
War that might even have prevented had even one American citizen not been prevented from executing his constitutional right to bear arms in defense of himself and his Nation.
Not only were [three] seperate airline flights plummetteed intentionally into the Pentagon and the World Trade Center towers, but reports are that our military had the unenviable task of killing its own citizens in order to save others when they shot down an airline flight somewhere over Pennsylvania.
The American people have been sold a bill of goods. Law abiding citizens have been forced to pay with their constitutionally "guaranteed" freedoms because the government has deemed that we are not trustworthy with our firearms.
What a joke. If you want to see the government's fine ability to handle their firearms you need only read reports of the actions in [Santa Clarita] where a plethora of police, trying to "apperehend" a "bad man" hit 6 houses other than the home where the "bad man" resided endangering the lives of innocent children and their parents.
Time and time again, we have read reports of how madmen with firearms and bombs devastate communities only to wonder in horror why no citizen or constable with a firearm was able to stop the incident dead in its tracks.
And those who are entrusted to "prevent" such incidents, actually causing more harm due to idiotic red-tape regulations which tie their hands.
And in the aftermath of such incidents, who is it that is always blamed? You and me.
And you think it will be different here? Absolutely not. Your Congress will, without a doubt, declare war on the American citizen. They've been looking for their "Reichstag Fire" for almost a century and I believe that this is it.
Nevermind the fact that if even one of those airplanes had armed citizens booked to fly, some of this may have been stopped dead in its tracks. And before you scoff at such a notion or accuse me of using this incident for personal gain, consider that at least one million Americans stop criminals in their tracks every year. In most cases without even firing a shot.
Yet our freedoms are always attacked when do-gooder politician's policies fail us miserably.
The legislative aftermath of this act of war will be no different excepting in magnitude.
You will pay for this act of war with your own freedom unless you stand up now and tell them: "No!"
There is no promise of "safety" that justifies the erosion of your ability to defend and protect your self, family and country. Do not let Congress, led by smarmy elitists like Dianne Feinstein and Charles Schumer, destroy your rights simply because their own policies have embarrassed and failed us all.
If anything, Israel and Switzerland should be the example (one which we used to set) which we follow.
While reports of terrorist acts do seem to hit the airwaves with apparent regularity in Israel, it is in fact one of the most privately armed and safe places in the world apart from Switzerland.
Personal freedom works. It works to prevent horrendous acts of cowardice that we have witnessed today. And if we are strong, it will prevent the even more horrendous acts of cowardice that are sure to be executed in the name of "safety" and "responsibility" by the likes of Feinstein, Schumer, Clinton and Daschle when they call for you to turn in your firearms.
Sadly, your own Republican representatives will jump on this bandwagon.
You will pay for this.
Unless, you keep your head about you when all others are losing theirs. Say no. This tragedy is the fault of our politicians. Some of us do share the blame because we trusted government to "protect" us.
Don't let it happen again. As the Holocaust survivors, some to their graves, said: "Never again."
I am shouting an alarmist message that has two prongs.
1. Our leaders are already hinting that their response to a foreign attack on our liberties will be a domestic attack on our liberties.
2. Our foreign policy is horribly flawed. We, in the name of "world peace" and U.S. interests, have made enemies rather than friends. If we could face reality, we'd realize that compassionate acts generally do not result in attacks. If what we were doing around the world could truly be characterized as "compassion and concern" why would it generate such categoric ill-will?
The original thread got pulled because this post made some people angry enough to issue some seriously profane statements.
I do not mean to "disunify" anyone. We should be united. And if anyone tells me that the cause of liberty is not worthy needs to tell me why they call this "the land of the free and the home of the brave."
Is Liberty not worth fighting for anymore?

Until such time as more detail is known what can anyone say... he could have chose better wording, but his message at the time it was given was not much more than what was said.
We have been hit, we will find and punish those who did this.
Oh sure, more flamboyant language could have been used, I know I certainly would have been more forceful. But at the time there is no doubt that confusion and chaos was going on... not only in NYC but throughout the government.
GWB does not have the flare for language that might have made his speach more apetizing for some. But the truth be told, there is little else that could be said at that point.
Oh and believe me, I am no GWB fan here speaking. But this stupid bashing of the President in a time like this is just stupid.
The giant has been awoken, make no mistakes. Vengence will be swift, absolute and almighty.
Today our attentions are on our countrymen, we tend our wounded, and bury our dead. Enjoy it while you may cowards. For tommorrow, there will be none of your countrymen left alive to bury you.
They? You mean the organized group that hijacked American domestic planes and rammed them into buildings, killing thousands of innocents?
Oh, you mean the really bad guys. The American government. Forgive me if I do not share your sentiments regarding our officials.
Any official who says you must give up your liberty in order to preserve your liberty deserves more than bad sentiment.
Say hello to these:
National ID card, total confiscation of firearms, massive surveilance. These have already been hinted at. ALREADY. TODAY. EVEN BEFORE THE BODIES ARE COLD.
I'm begging you. Say no. Say it loudly when they ask for your support.

It wasn't that uncommon at all in the early days. Every Military pilot carries a sidearm. What about a firearm in an airplane is that wierd?
It seems odd to me that every airpilot isn't mandated to carry his own firearm and be well-trained in its use. The IRS and other federal agents can carry sidearms onto a plane but not you or I. That's plainly stupid.
Obviously it's not the presence of any old firearm that is a problem.
Other than this issue, I'm sorry you missed the rest of the piece.
I just posted this on another thread, but I will repeat it here as it is relevant.
I am old enough to have flown from Dallas Love to Idlewild airport in a Branniff DC-7. I remember walking practically from the parking lot to the airplane with hardly a stop for our tickets to be checked. No metal detectors at all.
More recently, I worked for about 7 years in a job which required me to travel to Europe frequently. In the 80s, the company I work for would not allow it's employees flying to Europe to fly on American flagged carriers due to increased terrorist threats. I have walked through airports where machine gun armed soldiers walked through the concourses, armored personnel carriers patrolled the taxiways and I had to go through two metal detectors, one at the entrance to the concourse and one at the entrance to the departure lounge for the flight I was on. There was a curtained cubicle inside the lounge where they could take someone to be strip searched.
After the events of today, I can see this happening in America. I am afraid for our liberty.
