WhiteHorse is small airport east of Alaska, north of us in WA state - this was a Korean 747 - brought down by RCAF and USAF together. Transponder indicated it was a hijack situation.
To: knak
Those were F-15's from Anchorage, most likely.

Could you tell the coloration? Uniform coloration (no pun intended) probably military, multicolored, probably commercial, although all commercial flights are supposed to be on the ground by now.

it was a large passenger jet not military there was a vapor trail on it now its coming east!!!!!!!!!dang out of nowhere came 2 miltitary jets along side it then they disappeared still headin east

Not sure - very spotty news out of Canada. Not sure what KAL (international flight) is equipped with either.

I hope you are not fooling around.
An intercept/hostile escort scenario would have one or both jets in trail. If both are flying off the wing, it is a friendly escort.

We're about 15 minutes from the FAA headquarters for the midwestern states. My office manager was over there running an errand during lunch hour and had to reroute several blocks. It's in Olathe, KS. My partner saw a military plane circling overhead out there about 10 am this morning. Talked to an acquaintance in Tulsa, OK. That whole state has shut down. That's my news from the midwest.
