I just called my local hospital about giving blood. The hospital administrator is arrangeing for a mobile blood bank but she said that both my husband and I are too old to give blood. Do any of you know of any other way we may help? I just feel so helpless and frustrated. I want to do something now. This is the same feeling I had when Pearl Harbor was attacked but then I was too young to contribute.

Just heard on the radio, that the Red Cross needs money, too. I can't give blood too cuz of some meds I'm taking but I CAN give the money. I wanted you to know this. I wasn't able to get the number, my GS was talking....the web site was http://www.redcross.org

Do a search first, PLEASE, as I think it's "org".....

Hugh Hewitt just said that The President's going to speak 1/2 an hour earlier than planned. Head's up and Bump for the getting out of work folks.

My goodness! I had no idea you could be too old to give blood. If I were you, I would call my local Red Cross office. Even if you are too old to give blood (and I'm honored to be talking to someone who must be ... what? 3 or 4 hundred? ;o), I'll bet you could give platelets.

They're also saying that a lot of people had their clothes blown off, and they're collecting clothing. That may be taken care of already. One thing, though, that will be needed is money for the families of survivors, and for burials. I'll bet that donations to the fund for familes of firefighters, police, and other rescue workers who ran in to save their fellow Americans, and died doing it, would be greatly appreciated.

And, of course, whatever our religions are, and however it is that we pray, we can always do that.
