FreeRepublic is indeed a lighthouse in a storm. Even though I was watching live tv when the second plane hit the other tower, I logged on to FR shortly after because I wanted to be here. Some of our people here had an uncanny sense of what was what.

wingnuts'nbolts wrote within just a few minutes of the second strike: "Kamakazie Palistinians?"

hellinahandcart wrote within the same minute: "....We need all the airports closed right now and the military in here."

I wouldn't have believed that could even be done! And here hellinahandcart was calling for it well before it was actually done. I don't think they had even reported that those planes had been hijacked yet. Good call. Hell, I was in such a state of shock my brain was about as functional as jello pudding.

Any time crazy things happen, I come here quickly. I don't always say anything, but because of faithfullness of the people here, I have a sense of connectedness when I read everybody's posts. That's comforting in frightening times.
